The German drivetrain manufacturer RENK has taken a follow-on order worth €30 million from Patria for transmissions to go into the TRACKX family of light tracked vehicles, the company stated.

Patria placed an initial pre-production batch at the beginning of the year, and this order is substantially larger, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027. The transmission involved is the HSWL 076, developed for light tracked vehicles in the 10 to 20-tonne class, weighing around 700 kilograms and combining steering, braking and propulsion in a digitally controlled drivetrain.

Michael Masur, chief executive of vehicle mobility solutions at RENK, said: “The announced vehicle procurements by Finland and Sweden are a key step towards series production for TRACKX. We have been involved with this vehicle family through the development, testing and pre-production stages, and will now be continuing this cooperation with Patria.

“At the same time we are working with Patria to further develop the technological potential of the platform, with a particular view to manned and unmanned vehicle concepts.”

Finland and Sweden placed their first TRACKX orders at the end of September, with deliveries also due to start in 2027.

RENK, based in Augsburg, turned over around €1.4 billion in 2025 and has been listed in Frankfurt since February 2024, joining the MDAX index the following year. Neither company has said how many transmissions the order covers.
