The International Ayr Show—Festival of Flight 2024 has wrapped up in spectacular fashion, giving everyone who attended an unforgettable weekend—and we had a front-row seat!

Ayr’s seafront provided the perfect backdrop for two days of thrilling aerial displays, with everything from historic warbirds to modern jets keeping the crowd’s eyes glued to the skies.

One of our team members was there, capturing all the best moments, and the stunning photos and videos from the event really show just how incredible the weekend was.

One of the standout moments had to be the flypast by the USAF C-130J Super Hercules. This huge aircraft from the Kentucky Air National Guard was a real crowd-pleaser. Seeing it gracefully glide along the Ayr coast was a sight to behold, and when the crew opened up the cargo door mid-air, you could hear the gasps from the audience. It’s one thing to read about it, but seeing this iconic plane in action was a different experience entirely – and we’ve got all the photos and footage to prove it!

The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team didn’t disappoint either. Dropping from the skies at speeds of up to 120 mph, their formations were breathtaking. The crowd loved every second, especially when they performed their famous ‘Crisscross Carousel’ move.

The atmosphere was electric, and our photos captured the adrenaline and skill involved in their daring freefall. For history buffs, the sight of the Navy Wings collection, with classics like the Westland Wasp and Harvard G-NWHF, added a nostalgic touch. It felt like a living museum soaring above us.

Then there was Richard Goodwin in his Jet Pitts, pulling off stunts that left everyone on the edge of their seats. His vertical hold, where the biplane seemed to defy gravity, had the crowd in awe.

The power and speed of the Typhoon Display Team was just as breathtaking, with the jet delivering a jaw-dropping performance full of high-speed twists and turns. The roar of the engines, combined with those tight manoeuvres, created a buzz you could feel in the air – and the videos we captured give a real sense of just how intense it was.

All in all, it was a brilliant weekend. The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight 2024 brought together aviation fans, families, and locals for a day out they won’t forget in a hurry.

From historic aircraft to cutting-edge aerobatics, there was something for everyone, and with the sunny weather holding up, the atmosphere along the Ayr seafront was fantastic.

Blimey. So that’s where the sunny weather was in the UK?! Torrential rain and drizzle here.
If you think C130 is huge, I have an Atlas, C17, and C5 for you Lisa. 😉

Glad you had a great time. The team should try and attend the Royal International Air Tattoo next July. It’s a fantastic show.
