Over thirty Duke of Lancaster regiment soldiers have tested positive for drugs while deployed to Cyprus.

MoD documents revealed that  45 had taken class A drugs which can include cocaine or ecstasy. Officers acted to remove a total of fifty who had taken compulsory drugs tests since 2016.

The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment is the Infantry Regiment of the North West of England. It has 2 regular battalions and 1 reserve battalion.

The Regiment was formed on 1st July 2006, by the amalgamation of the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment, the King’s Regiment and the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment. They recruit from the Mersey to Scotland, the Pennines to the Isle of Man.
