A 20-year-old man from Honiton, Devon has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison after being found guilty of a series of terrorism offences linked to extreme right-wing content, according to a news update from Counter Terrorism Policing South West (CTPSW) published on 17 April 2025.
Tobias Gleed, who has no fixed abode, was convicted at Winchester Crown Court following a two-week trial. He was found guilty of:
- Four offences of possessing documents likely to be useful for committing or preparing an act of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000
- Two offences of distributing terrorist publications
- Two further offences of providing a service that enabled others to access terrorist publications, both under the Terrorism Act 2006
CTPSW stated that Gleed was arrested in September 2022 after officers seized digital devices containing extreme right-wing terrorist publications. The material was found to have been shared with others through online messaging platforms.

Following sentencing, Detective Superintendent Sarah Robbins, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing South West, said:
“Gleed represents a threat to our communities and the impact of his offences, including the influence of the content he shared, cannot be underestimated.” She added, “Such offences have a potentially dangerous, radicalising effect and it’s right he’s been convicted for his activity.”
Gleed will serve two-thirds of his sentence in custody, with the remainder on licence. A five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order was also issued, which will be imposed upon his release.
Police urged the public to report any suspicious or concerning behaviour linked to potential extremist activity. Information can be shared confidentially via gov.uk/ACT, with authorities emphasising that reporting concerns “won’t ruin lives, but it could save them.”
