Israel has carried out a daylight attack on Iran’s capital on Saturday, with smoke seen rising over parts of the city, including near central districts. Israel’s defence minister confirmed that Israeli forces had attacked Iran.
In a subsequent development, a US official told American media that US military strikes on Iran are underway, indicating direct American involvement in the operation. The report was carried by multiple outlets, including the Associated Press and The New York Times, citing officials speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.
Open-source accounts monitoring the region reported multiple explosions across Tehran, with video showing large plumes of smoke rising over the skyline. Iran’s state-affiliated Fars news agency said several new explosions were heard in the north and east of the capital.
Additional reports circulating online suggested a possible Tomahawk Land Attack Missile strike in northern Iraq, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Israel has reportedly closed its airspace to civilian flights following the strikes.

Sadly that is the grand plan, certainly in respect of timings anyway. A graph from the moment demands for the files to be released ramped up and then started to be released would certainly suggest that I suspect. Surprise, surprise this latest attack coincides with direct questions about if one President is questioned under oath about Epstein links then why not others. More pertinent perhaps questions being raised as to where are the ‘missing’ FBI interview documents relating to accusations from a then 14 year old about direct assaults from Trump. 3 of the 4 interviews have not been released and her accusations were rubbished despite from what we now know now of their activities what she then stated but dismissed as invention had to be from the knowledge of someone ‘interacting’ on a considerable scale with Epstein and Maxwell. Coincidence I’m sure.
The obvious immediate goals would be to eliminate or severely reduce Iran’s ability to enrich Uranium and produce long range missiles of any kind.
Reduce its conventional military capability

I thought that had been done like it had never been done before. Now seems from the Ministry of MAGA Truth it hadn’t been done before. But then we knew that from actual rational analysts rather than the White House Lord Haw Haw propaganda.
The worrying thing now is that anything but the total collapse of the Regime will realistically be success for Iran. Otherwise ultimately it will just be further delay of their ambitions and one presumes an even madder leadership. If there is a collapse of the Regime, what replaces it? History hasn’t boded well on that one and a Country like Iran suddenly becoming a hot bed of factional extremist religious nutters without central control doesn’t bear thinking about. The next President is going to be left with chaos to massage if history is any indicator. While the post attack plans are of a serious concern, not one sensible and knowledgeable person should disagree with the fact the Iranian Government needs to go! For the last 50 years it has planned, carried out direct terrorist attacks, by itself and by proxy, across the globe! The anti-semites and Islamic fundamentalist who lead Iran are one of the main players in destabilising efforts and think nothing of killing people overseas and its own people.
The Orange man has alluded to an extended campaign, backed up by a very capable Isreal, but it will not (in my opinion) be boots on the ground (aside from a few SF/poss CIA) and methinks his hope is the people rise up and take over in a “legitimate” way. However as history has shown previously if you remove one crazy madman there’s always a lot more waiting in the wings, wiry their followers and their own agenda and perception of how things should be done.
It will be interesting to see Starmers reaction and actions in the next 24 hours, to see if he has the minerals to support (or otherwise) this action by the Orange man. Maybe he will ask Lord Hermer to see what he will do, unless Hermer is busy counting his profits from the Chagos deal!

That would happen if the US only did specific and minimal strikes however it would appear it’s a free for all on all Iranian assets so nope, they will have trouble closing a door after this never mind the strait of Hormuz!
Apparently Trump has told the Iranian people, via a speech, to rise up and throw the regime out and that this is the last chance..!
He has also warned the American people that there might / likely will be US casualties.
Add in the fact that Israel is saying that today was earmarked as the start of the campaign some weeks ago and it is clear that the nuclear weapons talks were probably a smoke screen.
So Trump wants flex America’s muscles and he clearly wants to get rid of the regime in Tehran. The Iranian regime is truly dreadful but the West’s record on regime change is hardly glowing, so the ordinary people will be the one’s to suffer the most, as usual.

Just seen a video feed from Haifa on the BBC. About half a dozen merchant ships briefly came into view, along with what looked like a small warship at speed, all heading heading out to sea. A few minutes earlier there was an image of an explosion on the surface of the habour, presumably from a ballistic missile coming down. In effect, those merchant ships were under fire..!
