US forces have carried out a wave of strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets inside Iran, hitting air defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets and other military facilities, according to US Central Command.
CENTCOM announced on 1 September that the strikes had been completed against a range of Iranian military targets. Targets identified by CENTCOM included Iranian air defence positions and radar systems, along with maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities and communications sites.
CENTCOM stated: “U.S. forces struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets including air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites.”
The command added: “The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members.”
The Strait of Hormuz is the narrow maritime passage connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea. It is used by commercial shipping operating between Gulf ports and international markets and is also regularly patrolled by US and allied naval forces.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps maintains its own naval, aerospace and ground forces alongside Iran’s regular armed forces. Its naval element operates extensively in and around the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz. The target set identified by CENTCOM covered several elements of Iranian military infrastructure. Air defence and radar installations form part of Iran’s ability to detect and respond to aircraft and other aerial activity, while communications sites support military command and coordination.
CENTCOM also specifically identified mine-laying capabilities among the targets attacked. Iranian forces have long maintained naval mine capabilities for operations in the waters around Iran, including approaches to the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States currently has more than 50,000 military personnel deployed across the Middle East, according to CENTCOM. US Central Command is responsible for American military operations across a region covering the Middle East and parts of Central and South Asia, including the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters.

No deal will ever be reached, the Iranian regime hates the West so deeply, and they are determined not co-operate.
Any talks or negotiations are just done to buy time to re-arm and redeploy.
I don’t believe for 2 seconds that Obama’s JPCOA would have solved this either.
The Iranian regime are experts at deceiving, despite all the so-called inspections, they would have found ways around it.
I think it has been inevitable for decades that one day Iran and the West (and Israel) would be directly in a kinetic conflict.
Deals have been reached in the past. Iran kept to them. Trump is the one that didn’t. With his past record of threats against allies, supporting genocide in Gaza, wiping out Iran’s leadership (including the family of the current leader), kidnapping Venezuela’s leader and stealing a lot of it’s oil and trying to starve Cuba out…
Frankly, if I was Iran I wouldn’t trust America with anything.

The West isn’t involved, just the USA and Israel, and so far has achieved either a) nothing, b) everything or c) the same thing over and over again.
You can only wipe everything out once, reality can be quite problematic for some.
Surely the American military leadership know this is a bonkers campaign, are they just yes men to the White House.

They don’t expose everything, anyone fighting west knows already to play the long game.

This will not end well for the US/Trump unless they change tactics.
They need to launch an air and naval campaign against the Iranian military – regime and infrastructure so devastating and relentless the Iranians are sent back to the Stone Age.
It also means destroying all their oil and gas infrastructure.
If the US/Trump continues on their current trajectory they will lose because the Mullah’s and IRGC will not stop resisting under the current circumstances – they are far from beaten and more importantly they believe they can win.
Still wont do it. Navies control seas, air forces assist navy and land forces. But its land forces that force surrenders etc. Aug 1945 aside for obvious reasons.
