Elbit Systems has secured a series of naval defence contracts worth approximately $330 million from international customers, including NATO member states, as the Israeli defence firm strengthens its position in the global maritime sector.

The contracts span a range of advanced naval capabilities, including electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare (ASW) systems, combat management systems (CMS), platform modernisation, and unmanned technologies.

Among the key capabilities being delivered are Elbit’s TRAPS towed sonar systems, combat management and electro-optic solutions, and upgrades to existing platforms such as offshore patrol vessels and frigates. Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) technologies and the Seagull unmanned surface vessel (USV) also feature prominently in the orders.

Elbit says the new contracts will enhance situational awareness and survivability in complex maritime environments. The company says that its modular and open-architecture designs enable integration into a range of existing naval platforms.

“The maritime domain represents an important growth engine for Elbit Systems, combining our internally developed capabilities with the assets and expertise acquired through strategic acquisitions,” said Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, Elbit’s President and CEO.

“These recent contract wins highlight the increasing recognition of our technological leadership and the strong confidence that leading naval forces place in our ability to deliver cutting-edge, mission-ready solutions.”

  1. At $50000 a piece apparently the Sea Dome might be a solution for a simple missile for small escorts and auxiliaries.

  2. On a serious point, I’m not sure we should be comfortable being tied in to Israel under Netanyahu, any more than we should be with the USA under Trump.

The most persuasive reason I have heard for Israel’s prosecution of a war on Gaza is that Netanyahu needs to maintain an emergency situation to protect himself from corruption charges he faces.

    It is a mess.

    • Elbit onshore a lot within the UK through the Elbit (UK) subsidiary. You may believe everything you read in the press about Netanyahu, but it doesn’t affect how an Israeli company supplies the UK any more than a UK election affects how a British company supplies in the United States.
