Raytheon UK has announced that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has made a landmark purchase of its 1,000th Landshield unit.

Landshield, a pioneering anti-jam system that’s about the size of a hockey puck, boasts a lightweight, compact frame and low power consumption.

“By purchasing 1,000 units of Landshield and Landshield Plus, the MoD continues to show confidence in our suite of anti-jamming capabilities,” said Rory Chamberlain, business development executive at Raytheon UK.

“This sustained investment has allowed us to develop our partnership with the MoD and innovate in the most impactful ways.”

Raytheon UK has reported a surge in demand for anti-jamming products and has accordingly adapted its manufacturing process. This includes further investment in its supply chain to swiftly meet urgent requirements.

Sam Missett, head of Assured Position, Navigation and Timing at Raytheon UK, acknowledged the crucial role of GPS defence in the 21st century, saying, “From financial systems to military applications, our reliance on the information that GPS provides continues to grow. By producing a product that continues to receive the backing of MoD, it demonstrates to us that we are delivering a level of capability that keeps us ahead of our adversaries.”

  1. I love it when a generic picture is supplied with a screened room having spend all my life working in or with them, this means on a rare occasion I can pull articles up on accuracy…. but I won’t as it tends to bore people too much (my wife would testify to that). Its the boring (to some people) but necessary end of the procurement process to make sure a product is fit for purpose or does exactly what it says on the tin. 😀
