MARSS has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence for a national C4I programme valued at over USD 190 million, the company stated.
The agreement, signed in London on 19 March 2026, establishes a partnership between MARSS, the Nigerian MoD and local partners to deliver what is described as Nigeria’s first fully integrated national defence architecture. The multi-year programme will include deployment of the company’s NiDAR AI-enabled command, control, communications, computers and intelligence system, alongside training, spares and support.
A national command centre and additional regional hubs are to be established under the programme, linked to a network of sensors, unmanned aerial vehicles and expeditionary platforms. These will be integrated to provide a unified operational picture across air and land domains, supporting counter-terrorism and security operations, according to the company.
UK Defence Minister Lord Coaker said: “The UK and Nigeria share a deep, longstanding security and defence relationship. Signing this memorandum of understanding is a great example of our continued and strengthening partnership, with a British company able to deliver world leading, combat proven UK technology and defensive capabilities to support Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.”
Rob Balloch, Chief Growth Officer at MARSS, said: “By integrating expeditionary vehicles, regional centres, and a new national headquarters into a single C4I tactical picture, NiDAR will provide a multi-dimensional layered defence capability that is both scalable and future-proofed in the fight against terrorism.”
The programme includes capabilities such as autonomous mission management for uncrewed systems and a system designed to deliver a shared operational picture across multiple command levels. MARSS states that its NiDAR system is already deployed at more than 60 sites globally and that the Nigeria programme represents one of the first national-scale applications of AI-enabled C4I in Africa.

Well this is a fast moving sector. I wonder why (as ICBMs, drones rain down on some of the best proteced countries on the planet…and still Britain foes nothing)?
How much work will go to Britain (Anti defence sector government, expensive jobs, over-regulation) and how much to Australia?
‘…the acquisition of MARSS represents a pivotal strategic move for Electro Optic Systems (Australia), fundamentally enhancing its position in the counter-drone sector. By integrating MARSS’s advanced AI-driven command and control technology, EOS is poised to deliver comprehensive, next-generation security solutions.’
God, do not ssk the UK to sort it out look at our clapped out under funded mess. Better of asking some like Southern Ireland
