US Army rocket artillery has opened fire during a joint live-fire exercise with the Singapore Armed Forces, with M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems used during Exercise Daring Warrior 2026 at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, according to the US Army.
Soldiers from Bravo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery Regiment, 75th Field Artillery Brigade conducted the firing on 21 September alongside Singaporean personnel as part of the bilateral training event.
Imagery released by the US military shows an M270 launching rockets across the Fort Sill training area, with American and Singaporean troops also working together around artillery equipment and command systems during the exercise.
The US Army said the live-fire was designed to synchronise American and Singaporean launch crews, allowing the two forces to practise delivering coordinated precision fires while testing their ability to operate together on the range. Exercise Daring Warrior brings together artillery personnel from the two countries for training involving weapons operation, command and control and the coordination required to employ long-range fires as part of a combined force.
The M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System is a tracked rocket artillery platform operated by the US Army and several allied militaries. Its launcher carries interchangeable rocket and missile pods, allowing it to employ different types of ammunition depending on the mission.
Unlike conventional tube artillery, multiple launch rocket systems are intended to deliver fires over greater distances and can engage targets using guided munitions. The M270 shares ammunition with the wheeled M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, better known as HIMARS, although the tracked M270 carries two launch pods rather than one.
The system has also gained renewed prominence during the war in Ukraine, where M270 and HIMARS launchers supplied by Western countries have been used extensively by Ukrainian forces for long-range precision strikes.
For the American and Singaporean troops at Fort Sill, the emphasis was on operating the systems as part of a combined artillery force rather than simply conducting individual launcher firings.
Photographs from the exercise show personnel from both armies working together during equipment familiarisation and planning activity, as well as operating observation and targeting equipment in the field. Other imagery shows American and Singaporean troops positioned around command posts and tactical vehicles before the live-fire phase, reflecting the wider chain of activity required to identify targets, pass firing information and coordinate launch crews.
The Singapore Armed Forces operates its own M142 HIMARS rocket artillery systems, giving its personnel experience with a weapons family that shares ammunition and elements of fire-control architecture with the M270.
Fort Sill is the US Army’s principal artillery training centre and home to the Field Artillery School, making the Oklahoma installation a regular location for both domestic and multinational artillery exercises. The 75th Field Artillery Brigade is also based at Fort Sill and provides long-range precision fires capabilities to US forces, with subordinate units operating rocket and missile artillery systems.

Sorry Craig but what has this got to do with UKD
Singapore does not buy any defence products from us and a joint exercise with an ageing US rocket syatem in the USA is not news
How about real new news!
Tiberius Aerospace based in California but run by a clever Brit has a $500m order for their very long range rocket artillery involving several unanamed UK partners to produce Spectre in the UK
The State Dept has given ITAR appoval
Now this is real hot news and great for the UK (and also Ukraine?)
Please do an article on this and the story behind an ex Microsoft employee who left them to form a company which was sold to Google for $3billion and formed Tiberius
It tells you all you need to know about the state of modern Britain that this “clever Brit” had to go to the United States to find venture capitalists, the proper business environment and political leadership to back him and his British and American colleagues’ vision.
Also of UK interest is another major rocket deal announced involving BAE Inc is a major $1 billion+ order for 10.000 low cost APKWS rockets to UAE
No benefit to UK industry but British owned
In other missile related news from another country (that may or may not be of interest to anyone in the UK) the first airborne release of the joint US/Australian developed developed HACM (Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile) has taken place at an undisclosed Australian test range (most likely Woomera). The Mach 5+ HACM is being integrated into the RAAF’s Super Hornet fleet. It is part to the joint USAF/RAAF SCIFiRE hypersonic development program which builds on the earlier Australian HyFire program out of the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Hypersonic missiles are likely to be critical to any future conflict in the Pacific.
The RAAF declared Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for both LRASM and JASSM ER (900+ km range) on its Super Hornets in September this year. The LRASM has also been fired from RAAF P8 at this year’s RIMPAC in July. An RAAF Super Hornet has been photographed at Grey Flag 2026 in the US at a test site in California undertaking weapons carriage testing with an inert AIM 260 (JATM) the long range replacement for the venerable AIM 120 AMRAAM. The RAAF is only the second airforce globally to be approved for acquisition of the AIM 260.
Together with the Norways Kongsberg Joint Strike Missile (incorporating an Australian designed seeker) for internal carriage in the F35A and being built at a new factory in Australia, the RAAF will have arguably one of the most advanced ranges of airborne weapons of any Western airforce outside of the US.
More pertinent- not if, but when, will Britain finally fall to the wogs, and kaffirs, thus completing the process that began with dissolving the Empire in 1947 with the partition of India, and then so on with divesting the Gold Coast in the late 50s and so on through the 60s and 70s?????? Allowing those from our former Empire to come here hasn’t worked out. I’m afraid it’s too late for the UK, even if Reform UK takes power. The wogs & kaffirs are so entrenched and have no intention of becoming Britons. A wog & kaffir Moslem uprising in Britain is coming. Will native Britons meet them? The pussy Police of the UK won’t. Their leadership are terrified of the Moslems AND Whitehall. God Save the UK, not the King.
