EDGE Group and Anduril Industries will establish a joint UAE US production venture to accelerate the development of autonomous systems, the companies stated.
The partnership, called the EDGE Anduril Production Alliance, will focus on building, selling and sustaining new platforms from facilities in the United Arab Emirates.
According to both firms, the joint venture will combine EDGE’s established regional presence with Anduril’s software centred approach to rapid development and integration. The UAE has already agreed to acquire the first 50 Omen autonomous air vehicles, providing what the companies describe as a guaranteed production base intended to strengthen local supply chains.
Omen is a hover to cruise autonomous air vehicle that the partners say offers the endurance and payload of larger systems within a compact airframe. The aircraft is the first of several systems planned under the partnership and will be produced in the UAE for regional customers, while US orders are expected to be handled at Anduril’s facility in Ohio.
H E Faisal Al Bannai, chairman of EDGE Group, said the partnership would accelerate domestic capability. “Embedding that capability in the UAE fundamentally accelerates how we innovate, build and field next generation systems,” he said. “Omen exemplifies this transformation.”
Trae Stephens, co founder and executive chair of Anduril, said the venture aligns with the urgency of modern defence acquisition. “With EDGE, we’re aligning the means of production with the urgency of modern deterrence,” he said.
The companies said the alliance will coordinate defined development projects, create a shared portfolio of autonomous systems, and support broader commercial and defence applications across the region. Activities will be subject to required approvals from the US and UAE governments.
In addition to the production venture, Anduril plans to establish a 50,000 square foot research and virtual simulation centre in the UAE to support design and testing of future systems.
