Capgemini has announced a multi-year agreement with BAE Systems to deliver operational integration across the defence company’s technology systems, in a deal the two organisations describe as a significant evolution of their long-standing relationship.
Under the agreement, Capgemini will take on a central role in orchestrating technology operations across BAE Systems’ global business, bringing multiple existing service providers together within a single integrated operating model. The arrangement is intended to move BAE Systems away from what the companies describe as fragmented, siloed service delivery toward a unified approach designed to improve performance.
Mary Haigh, Deputy Chief Information Officer at BAE Systems, said the move represented a meaningful step in the company’s broader digital transformation. “We’re taking a significant step in our transformation of the Digital ecosystem to deliver a secure, insight-led digitally enabled working environment to power operational excellence across BAE Systems. Our partners will play a critical role by unlocking greater agility, pace and innovation across our business.”
Rob Walker, Managing Director of Capgemini in the UK, said the engagement reflected a shared commitment to modernising technology delivery at scale. “BAE Systems plays a critical role at the heart of the UK’s defence and security landscape, and we are proud to build on our long-standing partnership through this important transformation. This engagement reflects a shared commitment to modernising how technology is delivered and operated at scale. By bringing together a market leading ecosystem under a single operational framework, we can help BAE Systems accelerate innovation, improve user experience and drive greater efficiency across its business.”
BAE Systems is one of the world’s largest defence contractors, with operations spanning air, land, maritime, and cyber domains across the UK, United States, Australia, and a number of other countries. The scale and complexity of its technology estate, which supports everything from naval shipbuilding programmes to electronic warfare development, makes the integration of IT service delivery a substantial undertaking. The company has been investing in digital transformation across its divisions as part of a broader effort to improve productivity and support the delivery of major international programmes.
Capgemini is a French-headquartered technology and consulting group with over 420,000 employees across more than 50 countries, reporting global revenues of €22.5 billion in 2025.
