The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has released a Prior Information Notice (PIN) indicating the forthcoming requirement for the MUSTANG Portfolio, a venture for the delivery of advanced live training projects.
Notably, the portfolio will include ‘Next Generation Red Air’ and ‘Next Generation Surface EW Threat’ training initiatives.
“The Authority has an upcoming requirement – MUSTANG Portfolio – for the delivery of Live Training Projects 1 (Next Generation Red Air) and 2 (Next Generation Surface EW Threat)”. The MOD stated in the notice.
The project’s ambit involves the execution of Live Training Projects 1 and 2, which correspond to Next Generation Red Air and Next Generation Surface EW Threat, respectively.
This announcement follows a series of consultations with the industry that included early market information pack releases, market webinars, supplier questionnaires and 1-1 engagement sessions.
The authority has revealed plans for a further Industry Webinar, scheduled for the 1st of June 2023, to provide an update on the MUSTANG Portfolio’s progress, and more specifically, the progress of Projects 1 and 2.
In the notice, the MOD highlighted its intent to keep industry stakeholders informed about its future market engagement plans. Currently, the MUSTANG Portfolio is a funded initiative, however, the MOD has clarified that issuing the PIN does not commit to any procurement related to the strategies stated in the notice.
The notice emphasises, “Any related future procurement activity will be subject to the DSPCR 2011 and advertised accordingly through the relevant channels”. Therefore, potential suppliers are advised to keep a watchful eye on Find a Tender for full details and further developments.
The old FRADU falcon 20s, they must be 35-37 years old now..
Yep, they have been around for long time in various disguises 🙂 speaking of old i see Falklands airbridge has started using Wideawake this week!!! hadn’t seen anything saying runway was finished
Yep they have had a few new paint jobs…my old man used to fix these things…once had a nasty experience in one when they were crossing the alps..had a nasty engine failure and a brown trouser experience trying to get to a runway. He said it was the first time he had seen a proper ohh shit look on the pilots faces.Put him right off flying…considering he has spend an age in the fleet air arm and then FRADU and flew all over the place it was a bit an epiphany.
Fifty four years old and counting
