Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Grynkewich visited Allied Air Command headquarters at Ramstein Air Base on 26 November, underscoring priorities of readiness, innovation and personnel care across Allied Command Operations, the alliance stated.
Grynkewich met Lieutenant General Jason Hinds, the newly appointed AIRCOM commander, to discuss the security situation and the need to maintain what NATO describes as a warfighting mindset at all levels. The release says he received updates on Eastern Sentry, the alliance’s enhanced vigilance activity aimed at strengthening air and missile defence on the eastern flank.
Eastern Sentry is presented as a shift from traditional air policing toward a multi domain framework that integrates air, land, maritime and space assets. During the visit, Grynkewich observed how AIRCOM coordinates air, space, cyber and intelligence functions in support of deterrence. He said “the most important thing we do each and every day is to deter and defend every square inch of Alliance territory” and linked that task to constant readiness.
The release notes that Grynkewich emphasised his broader priorities of caring for personnel, sustaining a warfighting approach and encouraging innovation. His stop at Ramstein included briefings from AIRCOM staff and the signing of the headquarters guest book, marking his first visit as SACEUR.
It’s got to be a bit awkward for an American general in NATO at the moment! He has to prepare forces that are supposed to fight the orcs and yet his administration is sending so many mixed signals over the issue it’s unbelievable!

With the exceptions of the poles… The rest of NATO is a joke and the UK is the worst offender… You need to actually spend some money and provide some actual troops.

Oh and while we are at it,not to slow in selling us weapons with a 10% mark up for Ukraine are you,don’t give the bollocks you have spent money either most if not all kit sent to Ukraine was coming to end of life so that saved you disposing costs and then you used the money allocated to Ukraine to rebuild your stocks with new kit! All the while trump is cutting sanctions on Orc oil companies and hasn’t condemned Pootin once😡
and the new US National Security Strategy which is basicity geared to extracting as much money as possible from the rest of the world
