Explosions have been reported in Tehran after Israel confirmed it had launched strikes against Iran, with US officials later saying American forces are also participating in the operation.

Israel has carried out a daylight attack on Iran’s capital on Saturday, with smoke seen rising over parts of the city, including near central districts. Israel’s defence minister confirmed that Israeli forces had attacked Iran.

In a subsequent development, a US official told American media that US military strikes on Iran are underway, indicating direct American involvement in the operation. The report was carried by multiple outlets, including the Associated Press and The New York Times, citing officials speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.

Open-source accounts monitoring the region reported multiple explosions across Tehran, with video showing large plumes of smoke rising over the skyline. Iran’s state-affiliated Fars news agency said several new explosions were heard in the north and east of the capital.

Additional reports circulating online suggested a possible Tomahawk Land Attack Missile strike in northern Iraq, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Israel has reportedly closed its airspace to civilian flights following the strikes.

There has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities on the extent of the damage or casualties. The situation remains fluid, with further updates expected shortly.

  1. what is the grand plan after?
not to far away Pakistan has declared open war on Afghanistan
    buckle up for more instability

      • Don’t be silly, there is a very carefully orchestrated plan. Every-time a new Epstein file implicates Trump then America bombs a new country. 😀

        • Sadly that is the grand plan, certainly in respect of timings anyway. A graph from the moment demands for the files to be released ramped up and then started to be released would certainly suggest that I suspect. Surprise, surprise this latest attack coincides with direct questions about if one President is questioned under oath about Epstein links then why not others. More pertinent perhaps questions being raised as to where are the ‘missing’ FBI interview documents relating to accusations from a then 14 year old about direct assaults from Trump. 3 of the 4 interviews have not been released and her accusations were rubbished despite from what we now know now of their activities what she then stated but dismissed as invention had to be from the knowledge of someone ‘interacting’ on a considerable scale with Epstein and Maxwell. Coincidence I’m sure.

        • The problem is there are millions of documents and files.. and only 195 states ( including the Vatican )…everyone is going to have to take their fair share.. we are all in this together 👍

    • The obvious immediate goals would be to eliminate or severely reduce Iran’s ability to enrich Uranium and produce long range missiles of any kind.
      Reduce its conventional military capability

Regime collapse (if possible at all) would be a bonus.

      • I thought that had been done like it had never been done before. Now seems from the Ministry of MAGA Truth it hadn’t been done before. But then we knew that from actual rational analysts rather than the White House Lord Haw Haw propaganda.

The worrying thing now is that anything but the total collapse of the Regime will realistically be success for Iran. Otherwise ultimately it will just be further delay of their ambitions and one presumes an even madder leadership. If there is a collapse of the Regime, what replaces it? History hasn’t boded well on that one and a Country like Iran suddenly becoming a hot bed of factional extremist religious nutters without central control doesn’t bear thinking about. Hatred of the regime does not as we saw in Iraq of support of the West especially when they become victims themselves. The next President is going to be left with chaos to massage if history is any indicator. The old careful what you wish for comes to mind all too easily especially when much of it is about distracting from what is going on in the US sadly.

      • Historically, regime change tends to occur when internal and external pressures align. Internally, that usually means sustained protests, economic crisis, elite fractures, and cracks within the security apparatus. Externally, it involves sanctions, diplomatic isolation, military pressure, or the credible threat of force. On their own, neither element is usually decisive. When they converge, regimes become significantly more vulnerable. However, pressure alone is rarely enough. You also need a coherent opposition ready to step in, with leadership, organisation, legitimacy, and some ability to consolidate authority if the system fractures.

In Iran, renewed anti-government protests driven by economic strain and political repression provide the internal pressure. Meanwhile, the US has substantial forces in the region, backed by sanctions and diplomatic pressure. That combination gives the US and Israel the ability to ramp up external pressure while unrest is already present and growing. The complication is that there is currently no single, unified, domestically rooted opposition ready to take control. The opposition remains fragmented between exile figures, reformists, monarchists, and various political movements inside the country. Even if pressure weakens the system, transition isn’t automatic. Without elite splits, security force fractures, or a credible alternative able to consolidate power, instability doesn’t necessarily translate into regime change.

Even if regime change doesn’t happen, there are clear strategic objectives driving the operation. The US and Israel are aiming for lasting degradation of Iran’s core capabilities — not just temporary interruption. That includes setting back nuclear and missile programmes, reducing its ability to project power regionally, and weakening the military and proxy networks it uses to threaten neighbours. With the scale of the US military buildup and leaders stressing that Iran’s capabilities must be permanently constrained, it’s clear the aim is to reshape Iran’s strategic position for the long term.

        • Regime change and Iran’s future strategic position aside… These strikes are worth it just to read the TDS-inspired tantrums in this comments section 👌

            • Nice try, Jonathan — we all know it was a joke. You’re just flexing your moral outrage because it triggered you. Honestly, you’re just another TDS 🤡

              • No I’m not taking about what is happening I’m taking about what you said.. because I don’t joke about people dying.. sometimes it has to happen and saying you get entertained by people’s reactions to people dying.. but low mate.. but you just label everything TDS if it makes you feel better.. but I was not calling out trump I was calling out YOU.

                • The joke was about the comments in this thread, not people dying. Stop pretending it’s some callous statement, it’s literally about reading the meltdown here over Trump, not celebrating suffering. We see the same TDS sufferers in this group losing it over Trump every day, regardless of the article. It’s a shame with you, because you do write some decent posts, but your TDS is evolving into knocking the US military at every opportunity. A bit of friendly advice — Trump won’t be around forever, so try to bring some objectivity back into your posts; I genuinely like to read them when you do.

                  • TDS is a reductionist and essentially like calling a person a fascist or communist without explaining why.. I’m allowed to be critical of US foreign and military policy when I believe it’s poorly thought out essentially popularist content creation.. and most of Trumps foreign policy has been that. It’s not sensible and it not long term.. I don’t knock the U.S. military at every turn, I knock poor foreign and domestic policy that weakens the west and any western nation.

Personally I’m a western exceptionalists in that I believe firmly that that the west is and has been the hight of enlightened human civilisation.. and I despise any actions that weaken it. So yep I’m going to bitch about the U.S. military only producing one escort a year and one SSN.. when faced with china producing 8 times those numbers and when people go but the USN is better I will point out that better never has really been that good at overcoming more. I will also point out the same shite in our own defence posture as well.. because I don’t greatly care if a Burke can beat a T055 every day of the week, I care if the USN can control the pacific in a decade against an a PLAN 3 times its size, I care if the RN and Northern European navies can control the high north.. I deeply Care about the U.S. makes itself so unpopular that it has no allies in a decade when it’s likely to have an existential war with china that may essentially destroy its world power and leave a brutal communist regime as the hegemonic power.. so yep when I see trump do things that edge that closer.. in going to say what I think and be critical, and calling it TDS is being a 🤡… when I call someone a fascist or communist I at least can give them a 10 point breakdown of why I believe that person exhibits the characteristics… calling people names is just low.

And Trump is not the issue.. he’s simply a showman out of his depth… it the movement of US only exceptionalism that worries me.. the abandonment of the idea of the wider western world for America only… because it will lead America to lose its greatest advantage just as a power is rising that can and wants to challenge it… and however flawed the US is I want it to be the hegemonic power over china… but if that’s not the case I’m going to hope Europe as a whole can become its own hegemony.

                    • I just don’t think you, and others with TDS, are self-aware enough to realise it hasn’t been reasonable critique for a while now, it’s become fixation. You can frame it however you like after the fact with your comment above, but I read your posts. There’s a pattern.

I’m not saying don’t criticise the US. Of course you should. But when almost everything circles back to Trump or knocking the US military, it stops being balanced analysis and starts becoming obsession.

You genuinely write good stuff. Hopefully you’ll take this in the spirit it’s meant.

                      Anyway, Enjoy your weekend 👍

                    • Absolutely spot on. Though this situation absolutely highlights Europe’s failings too – we must become a power that can operate in the world independently of other superpowers, if for no other reason than avoiding the brunt of the inevitable conflict as China’s power waxes and the USA’s wanes. We must have the option to step back and deal with both powers on terms which we can control.

And for Greg, of course it all circles back to Trump. His actions in both his first term and now have failed to address the primary threats posed by China. His policies and NSS indicate that he is more interested in exploiting his western allies than confronting true threats to democracy. And he currently wields more power than any recent president, with the apparatus of government essentially subservient to his whims (perhaps there is now some resistance starting to show).

“TDS” is a ridiculous way of admitting that you have no real explanation or excuse for his actions.

                    • The thing is Greg what really pisses me off is I don’t think Trump was wrong in his fundamental breakdown of the core threat..

                      1) neoliberal outsourcing of production allowed china to adopt a mercantile strategy that massively undermined the west and at the same time strengthened its own production.
                      2) NATO as an alliance created what was essentially a geostrategic form of “welfare dependency” in which many members of the alliance could no longer defence themselves.. and that is not what an alliance should do ( but that was created by a mixture of European being sucked into the end of history nonsense and the US wanting a level of dependency)
                      3) Russia and other nations needed to be moved towards the west not away towards china..

So his fundamental analysis of the problem was correct.. I think is solution to that is utterly and completely wrong and has now created extra problems on top of the first 3…

What he should have done was:

                      1) Created a capitalist democracy first movement… and worked to create a free trade zone across all western democracies..with agreed tariffs into that free trade zone dependent on how much we like or dislike a nation.. essentially the closer they get to western values the more the tariff gets reduced.
                      2) essentially got Europe to move to the Same percentage GDP spend on defence as the U.S.. via a process of moving NATO to an alliance that covers the whole global ans insisting Europe gets involved in management of global security… essentially move the goalposts each year until there is parity of spend… between the US and Europe.. he could have used the move to a free trade zone as the carrots..
                      3) move Japan, Australia etc into the Alliance and free trade zone..

Essentially supercharged the Western US hegemony.. creating a power block that would be utterly unassailable into the middle to later part of this century.. but he did not, he is creating geostrategic rifts across the capitalist democracies and a general mistrust of the U.S. this says it all in the latest set of polling in Japan 77% don’t think the U.S. would support Japan in war or be a reliable ally.. and geostrategically Japan is the single most important ally the US has in containing the PLAN in the western Pacific.. that is a monumental screw up of epic proportions.. the US needs japan to have total faith in it or it will not go to war with china when it all kicks off.

    • While the post attack plans are of a serious concern, not one sensible and knowledgeable person should disagree with the fact the Iranian Government needs to go! For the last 50 years it has planned, carried out direct terrorist attacks, by itself and by proxy, across the globe! The anti-semites and Islamic fundamentalist who lead Iran are one of the main players in destabilising efforts and think nothing of killing people overseas and its own people.

The Orange man has alluded to an extended campaign, backed up by a very capable Isreal, but it will not (in my opinion) be boots on the ground (aside from a few SF/poss CIA) and methinks his hope is the people rise up and take over in a “legitimate” way. However as history has shown previously if you remove one crazy madman there’s always a lot more waiting in the wings, wiry their followers and their own agenda and perception of how things should be done.

It will be interesting to see Starmers reaction and actions in the next 24 hours, to see if he has the minerals to support (or otherwise) this action by the Orange man. Maybe he will ask Lord Hermer to see what he will do, unless Hermer is busy counting his profits from the Chagos deal!

All in all I support this operation and hike on the intervening time prior, there has been a plan put in place fur a smooth transition, hope for, but doubt it. Cheers.

      • First decent post I’ve read that isn’t obsessing over Trump and what ifs.
        I agree on all points.
Au revoir, mad Mullahs stoning to death, electrocuting, suppressing, killing tens of thousands of their own people, bankrolling terror elsewhere, and denying women rights.
Meanwhile, the usual suspects will be demonstrating shortly while totally ignoring those points and blaming everything on the west.
They’ll all vote Green/Islam or Corbyn Sultana anyway.
Just what has our education and university system done to turn young people against their own ?
Maybe they should start a new life in Tehran….or maybe Kabul!!

        • Agreed mate, but I’m sure the pro Gaza free Palestinian muppets will soon be gobbing off, with a previous noticeable silence when Tehran was killing 10s of thousands of its own people just 4 weeks ago! Maybe go and vandalise the Churchill statue again, that’ll show them eh….so fucking brave over here aren’t they!

        • Mullahs can go but culture and traditions Will remain. Look at arab spring, what was people vote after régimes changed? They went for islamists (same as algeria in 90s). We know the current mullahs are awful but we have no idea what would be next. Worst mullah? nicer mullahs that ban stoning for keeping beaheadings? Maybe. A Democratic style governement friendly toward Israël ? No way.

      • No problem whatsoever with what he is doing,it’s just what comes after,is the Shah going back in with the support of the military and people to restore sanity to Iran? It’s the mixed messages trump sends that’s the problem! Irans nuclear threat was supposed to have been obliterated on the first strikes now he says they could have had the bomb in a week, what is it? He tells the people during the demos we are coming to help you, then what?nothing! Don’t get me started on Ukraine the bloke just blows in the wind!!

        • Agree mate, it’s always the after, there’s never been a plan.
I’m glad we’re out of it on this one….I hope.

        • He does to a degree mate, not sure what he will say or do next, possibly a plus when negotiating but a concern for stability for sure.

      • it’s not a question of whether the Iranian regime is terrible on many levels, no one is arguing the contrary.
the question is what are these airstrikes going to accomplsih? how long are they going to last?
regime change? do you seriously believe that?
I’ll just point out that the US bombed Baghdad and Iraqi military bases, etc… during about a month during Desert Storm. Despite an intense air campaign Saddam and his regime was not toppled, neither did the population rebel against their dictator.
then let’s look at another scenario that the regime does fall, what tells you that the opposition is united or democratic for that reason, instead maybe an even more radical religious group could take over
        etc, etc, etc,
my point is that an air campaign is way too simplistic and naive approach to think this will result in establishing a happy peaceful democratic country
after this a point has been passed that this will only hasten Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons, because it is a generally accepted fact that not all Iranian nuclear military facilities were destroyed in summer 2025 strikes (questions remain on the extent of Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan sites were actually destroyed – partial or total? as well as other sites that were not hit, not to mention secret sites)

        • I’m presuming you did not actually read what I said, as you’ve gone off on a bit of a tangent. Where did I say I believe regime change works or I think an air campaign actually achieves regime change? Bloody hell people’s dislike of the orange man manifests into pure nonsense when commenting.

          • i did not mention Trump, if Biden did this I would have the same exact same concerns
I just reiterated my point that without an afterplan, this is just a bad idea with unforeseen consequences that could be worse
anyway Pandora’s box has been opened, so i do hope the people revolt and establish a democracy but i won’t hold my breath

      • My only issue with it really is I don’t think it’s been well thought out.. so in effect it’s probably kinetic effects and deaths for no reason and sometimes if you have very good reason the the means do justify the ends.

But for Iran the goal should be removing the government and for that you need a viable revolution from people who are better than what is replaced.. which means you need to have undertake shedloads of political and grey warfare first.. so make sure you have funded and strengthened the people you want in power.. smuggle arms into and create the insurgency that you want in power.. use political warfare to get popular support for the people you want in power.. weaken the government with grey warfare attacks and when all that is cooked up and ready and the people you want to work with are about to throw down.. then and only then do you make it kinetic basting holes in the governments command and control.. but you don’t smash the infastucture of the country.. because then the people you wanted on side will start to hate your guts… and or you end up with chaos and even worse..

So with Iran.. proper change of government through a well thought out long term plan of a well supported rebellion or every so often just smashing their nuclear program is good.. but unplanned attacks with no real plan beyond a big set piece battle.. when we know where that goes every time and every time the US does that it screws the west’s geostrategic position a little bit more.

        • How in the world would you know whether it’s been well thought out or not? Anyone who uses the phrase “weaken the government with grey warfare attacks” surely has no idea what he is talking about.

      • Airborne,
Hi, very pleased you mentioned post-attack plans. Truly hope RN is capable of generating MCM capability from the remaining Sandown and Hunt class MCM vessels, along w/ experimental systems. RN assistance will be required in the clearance of the inevitably deployed Iranian minefield in the Strait of Hormuz. RN had a world-class capability/reputation in the field. Uncertain re current capability. 🤔🤞

  2. Lets see what the opposition do if the regime gets battered hard enough

The mullahs pet soldiers, the revolutionary guard are going to be the favoured target after all

  3. Whether we want to be involved or not, the British aircraft carrier is a vital part of this mission. Given permission or otherwise, the US has gone ahead with this possible liberation of the Iranian people. Maybe the UK will get some tariff relief for its services?

    • Some chance, we will get a lot of downside before any remote upside unless magically we get a new Iranian regime of newt loving peaceniks. We are between a rock and a hard place that’s difficult to predict.

      • Even if the UK had protested, the US would not listen. Under Trump’s presidency, the UK and the rest of the West are members of the America Club and are expected to rise to the occasion when asked.

      • Sorry, Leh, I meant to say ‘The Worlds bigest aircraft carrier- the UK.’ With Mildenhall and Lakenheath being used to ferry fighters and freight in the build-up to war. I believe 10 F15’s flew in overnight.

      • Typhoons are also at Akrotiri as part of Shader.
As for the RN, cuts have come home to roost so badly that there are no RN ships left.
Maybe they’ll need MCMV vessels after this……

  4. Trump, pew, pew, pew. Netanyahu, pew, pew, pew. No stated endgame so roll out the body bags. Along with “regime change” deny China 20% of its oil.
JR Ewing would be loving this.

    • I think your finger is very much on the pulse there. Everyone is becoming potential canon fodder and collateral damage for the greater aim of damaging China. The US knows it can’t stop China economically despite the delusional ‘hottest Country in the World’ baloney and that economy will become militarily down the line so they are trying to cut off its tentacles starving it of the means to expand that economic force without direct action upon it. First the warning shot of tariffs (totally failed there) then Venezuela affecting oil supplies and its influence in South America generally and now Iran. Threats to Brazil is another sideways attempt at what is effectively an attempt to emasculate BRICS which will otherwise seriously weaken the dollar hegemony and of course attempts to become best mates with Russia is in essence another front in breaking the inevitable Chinese growth to potential World economical and military hegemony. What this isn’t, as is reflected in Venezuela or even the attempts to manipulate politics in Europe, is any remote concern for the freedoms of the Iranian people. Trump believes only chaos elsewhere around the World (with US threats the only control at all), can stop the World organising in ways that will eventually topple US World influence and economic wealth and technological supremacy, the signs are already there indeed. He feels ‘island America’ can protect themselves from that chaos elsewhere. Let’s be honest it’s what made the US dominant post war in the first place but this policy looks like it’s a very deliberate ploy and on steroids. Very dangerous play but US decline generally probably, at least in his mind means he and his acolytes feel the time to manipulate events for a better future for them is now or likely never.

      • The issue is it’s not really working.. because come world war three.. everyone is going to be ask to pick a side and at present the US is doing very well at developing a NOT YOU response.. in effect the US had a massive advantage in a huge alliance that essentially had 60% of the worlds power and wealth.. Im no longer sure Europe would do anything other than say not our issue Donald, India is now defo neutral, most of Africa is very pro china now.. South America is not happy with the U.S.. even the most geostrategically involved such as Japan and South Korea and starting to have some serious doubts.. and Russia.. Russia will pick china every day of he week and and extra day as as well..

I can now see a possibility that WW3 is not infact WW3 but ends up a sino/russia US war in which everyone else goes.. not our problem guv.

        • I disagree. When push comes to shove Western powers will side with America. Some overtly, some maybe more covertly, but they will choose America.

          • The question is will they go to war.. because in the finial analysis that is really all that will matter.. if we take Ukraine as an example no bugger really stepped up did they ? Only when you have a very tight alliance with a very very clear joint set of geostrategic goals and needs can you really depend on another nation.. so no European nations will never side with china.. but in 10 years if Europes relationship with the US keeps going down the same trajectory and the US has no involvement in European defence with a resurgence Russia eyeing it up do you really think European nations would go to bat for the U.S.. yes they may pop some sanctions on and offer to sell the US a load of weapons….

    • You’re delusional if you think their military will be able to keep the straight closed. One of the first things hit this morning were Iranian naval bases.
And the less said about their pitiful air force, the better

      • Lets hope you are right Clunker. At 33km wide at its narrowist its a real choke point and even though their navy assets have been whacked super tankers are easy pickings for shore based missiles, drones etc,and thats assuming its not already mined.
Just the threat of attacks is enough to cause a massive spike in gas and oil prices

      • The Houthis managed to cause havoc and raise the oil price over a massively bigger sea mass. Don’t be too over confident, but the Americans feel they control so oil much they won’t be effected like the rest of the World and hey if Europe, China and India et el then that probably helps them enormously to counter their economic decline in their minds. Everything has wider implications here.

      • Yes it can all it has to do is dump a load of mines in there.. it’s an enclosed waterway.. if Iran goes all our to close it and accepts casualties it will be closed.. Because tankers are not warships they will not go into a war zone.. their insurance will not let them.

    • That would happen if the US only did specific and minimal strikes however it would appear it’s a free for all on all Iranian assets so nope, they will have trouble closing a door after this never mind the strait of Hormuz!

      • Yeah Nazi Germany said that at the beginning of the BofB. Truth is we don’t know the answer to that so I hope your confidence proves correct but don’t make out it’s some ‘known known’, if it does work out as you say it is just very fortunate for us. Nothing is predictable as yet, otherwise the US would already, as they so overtly claimed as known knowns the Iranian nuclear efforts would no longer effectively exist at all. Yesterday apparent months later it’s weeks away from a bomb again. What do they say about truth being the first casualty of war, and that was before proven culpable liar Trump came on the scene.

        • Regardless of wether people like or dislike the orange man (some people dislike clouds their judgement) purely from a tactical perspective the Iranian navy will be pretty much none op if the strikes continue for an extended period!

          • Well said, some people let their personal feelings cloud their judgement.
We are not Greens on this site, we don’t support Islamist regimes, we welcome their fall

            • Agreed, mention Trump and the frantic frothers turn up, mention a routine military story, which is still interesting and relevant, many don’t bother! I don’t actually like Trump, or the way he does things, but if you post anything actually agreeing with something he did your fair game for the clown squad!

      • In the end they turn it into a warzone it’s closed, we are talking civilian shipping companies not state owned assets.. if the insurance company says no then the straits are closed.

  5. Apparently Trump has told the Iranian people, via a speech, to rise up and throw the regime out and that this is the last chance..!

He has also warned the American people that there might / likely will be US casualties.

Add in the fact that Israel is saying that today was earmarked as the start of the campaign some weeks ago and it is clear that the nuclear weapons talks were probably a smoke screen.

So Trump wants flex America’s muscles and he clearly wants to get rid of the regime in Tehran. The Iranian regime is truly dreadful but the West’s record on regime change is hardly glowing, so the ordinary people will be the one’s to suffer the most, as usual.

Getting into a war is easy, getting out of it is the hard part. Once again we are on a runaway train..! Better buckle up.

  6. Just seen a video feed from Haifa on the BBC. About half a dozen merchant ships briefly came into view, along with what looked like a small warship at speed, all heading heading out to sea. A few minutes earlier there was an image of an explosion on the surface of the habour, presumably from a ballistic missile coming down. In effect, those merchant ships were under fire..!

  7. Just had an unexpected thought, effectively the US just did to Iran what Japan did to the US at the beginning of W2 ie using talks as a sideshow to cover an attack on the US without any declarations of war, and I remember what the US reaction was to that. Indeed the Japanese intended to declare war just failed to get it out in time. Funny old World where the victors write the history as well as the backward looking pr. So what is infamy in one moment of time can be classed as a mere pre-emptive strike in another timeline, even as that strike is clearly to be a drawn out campaign and let’s be clear a war.

  8. Our thoughts must be with British servicemen on and off duty now under Iranian missile attack in Bahrain.

What is the British government doing to protect them? Nothing! What can Britain do to protect them? Nothing!

Thirty five years of unilateral disarmament has resulted in war once more on Continental Europe and British servicemen defenceless under attack overseas.

What an indictment of successive governments from all three major parties since 1991! An absolute disgrace!

    • Agreed, the inaction and dithering of Starmer at this moment is fucking embarrassing! Yes I’m sure there was a number of preparations, by the service head sheds, but on the global stage the UK government is yet again a laughing stock!

      • The whole country should be incandescent about the negligence of successive British governments.

Iran is not far off a capability to strike this country.

Is that really what it is going to take before national security is given the priority that it should always have had?

        • I believe you have hit the nail on the head and that yes it could indeed take a strike or strikes on the UK to actually make HMG spend big on defence.FFS four years of war on european soil and all we seem to read about is cuts cuts cuts

          • Not really. I believe our closest overseas territory is the chagos islands. Good luck Iran reaching those, let alone attacking them

            • Cyprus is the one they can reach it’s about 1200km as the crow flies closest to closest.. and Iran has a number of medium range Ballistic missiles that can reach… the Sejil, with a 2,000-km range; Emad, 1,700 km; Ghadr, 2,000 km; Shahab-3, 1,300 km; Khorramshahr, 2,000 km; and Hoveyzeh 1,350 km.. now I would not imagine any of is MRBMs are that accurate but the newer ones probably have a 30-100m CEP.

                • Sorry you are wrong clunker the sovereign base areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia make up a legal British overseas territory.

                  There are 14 in total

      • Well he has just said that the situation they shouldn’t escalate further! What an absolute wanker,it’s started so finish it properly not leave it hanging half arsed!

        • And his pathetic comment “we played no part in the strikes” is all for his back benches and the appeasement of the Muslim voters! Only a matter of time when the pro Gaza lizards hit the streets gobbing off about the attack once they wake up and realise Isreal was also involved! Muslim murdering Muslim is fine by them and quietly ignored, Jews killing Muslims it’s froth froth froth anti-semitism time.

    • TDS is a projection that only exists in the sycophantic followers of the rapist in chief. They are so deranged and stupid that they believe anything he says.

        • Nope. But regime change from 30 000ft hasn’t ever worked. Anywhere. Please do tell about the successful, unified middle Eastern states post Western intervention. You know, like Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. I’m not saying their previous governments were virtuous, but what follows is rarely an improvement.

    • By that measure most of America is anti-American & has this pseudo psychosis of reacting negatively to a dimwitted criminal felon facist ripping up the constitution & civilised values. Calling out wrongs of governments is a vital part of free western politics & culture. Only in the axis of evil is criticism to be demonised & repressed. Trump has even outraged many MAGA folk by protecting Epstien peophiles & conducting/threatening even more foriegn wars. People are waking up to the reality of Trump & his vile regime.

  9. Brutal oppressive regimes should be dealt with. What Trump says about the Iranian regime also applies mostly to his own adinistration. He’s a criminal, dimwitted, loose cannon.
I just hope Iran gets real freedom without massive casualties we saw recently when Trump encouraged them, only to delay a month or two before actually acting now. Rather hollow his words, acting(so he claims) to help the Iranian people when he’s dismantling constitutional democracy, freedom of speech & rule of law within the USA while cutting healthcare for the poorest just to give billionaires tax breaks, terrorising imigrants & citizens alike, persecuting opponents & officers of the law who investigated his crimes in the past. Trump has no right nor buisiness to offer amnesty to revolutionary guards. That’s for Iranians to decide once/if liberation is achieved. Thay’re the ones who’ve suffered, let them decide.
What probably will now happen is oil prices will rocket as Iran attacks shipping in the gulf/staights of Hormuz. That will make billions for both USA big oil & of course Putin selling his oil to fund the Ukraine war. But we’ll all be paying more for basics as fuel & hence transport costs rise as a result of interrupting the gulf oil trade.

  10. Bloody hell, I can’t believe Tottenham lost again.
