Boeing has announced that its production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) seekers reached record highs in 2024, with more than 500 units delivered during the year.
According to the company, early 2025 has also seen new production benchmarks set, including monthly and rolling 12-month output records.
The PAC-3 seeker is a key component of the Patriot missile defence system, enabling interceptors to identify, track, and neutralise a range of threats including hostile aircraft, cruise missiles, and advanced ballistic missiles. Boeing manufactures the seeker under subcontract to Lockheed Martin, and the system is used by the United States Army and 17 allied nations, including Ukraine.
In response to what it describes as growing global defence and security needs, Boeing says it plans to expand production further in 2025. The company is also nearing completion of a new 35,000-square-foot (3,300-square-metre) facility expansion in Huntsville, Alabama, which is expected to come online later this spring, boosting production capacity once fully operational.
“We know that service members and civilians are increasingly depending on us to deliver this critical component for the world’s best air defence system,” said Jim Bryan, Boeing’s director of Integrated Air & Missile Defense. “This capability exemplifies our air and missile defence expertise, which we can leverage to address major challenges, such as America’s next-generation homeland defence shield and more.”
To support this increase, Boeing has implemented a series of strategic investments and process improvements in recent years. These include facility upgrades featuring advanced inspection systems and robotic manufacturing tools, enhancements in production quality control, and efforts to strengthen and diversify the company’s supplier base to create a more agile and resilient supply chain.

Yes, but remain optimistic Boeing will eventually master production issues. Few now believe it, but Boeing was once a very capable aerospace tech firm, w/in the living memory of some dinosaurs which still roam the earth.
