Police Scotland, the Ministry of Defence and the Scottish Government should be brought together to protect defence industry staff after a run of attacks on manufacturing sites and on the private homes of workers, according to a letter sent to the Home Secretary by the Shadow Scotland Secretary.

Harriet Cross, the Conservative member for Gordon and Buchan, warned of a “dangerous escalation” in attacks on the Scottish defence sector, citing incidents at Leonardo UK in Edinburgh, Bruntons Aero Products in Musselburgh, Ultra I&C in Aberdeenshire and Kelvinside Electronics in Kilsyth, all of which she described as having links to Israel.

The pro-Palestinian group The List has claimed responsibility for vandalising the homes of two defence workers in Dunfermline and South Queensferry earlier this month, and has threatened to target more employees. Cross told the Home Secretary that the attacks form part of a wider rise in antisemitism across the United Kingdom, pointing out that the Community Security Trust recorded 1,926 antisemitic incidents in 2026, up 21 per cent on the previous year. She has asked ministers for an urgent meeting to discuss what can be done to protect the industry, its workforce and the wider Jewish community in Scotland.

Cross said: “These criminals have gone from attacking defence manufacturers to targeting innocent employees in their own homes.

“This is not peaceful protest. It is blatant criminality and intimidation, and those responsible must face the full weight of the law.

“These attacks cannot be viewed in isolation, nor as relating solely to the defence sector. They form part of a wider climate of a rising tide of antisemitism across the United Kingdom.

“The Home Secretary needs to work with Police Scotland, the Ministry of Defence and the SNP government to protect the defence industry, its employees and the wider Jewish community in Scotland.”

Scottish defence sites have been targeted repeatedly over the past two years, and a van was driven into the Leonardo plant in Edinburgh by activists who then damaged the building. Leonardo’s Edinburgh site produces targeting and laser systems, and employs around two thousand people in the city.

    • The problem is, many MPs, councillors and even entire councils are now either Muslim or pro-Muslim. Someone must have known this would start, and that it will escalate, but what they did was clamp down on our ability to talk about it.

The whole West seems to have lost its courage, no-one wants to stop this and those that do are becoming surrounded by the people who support it.

      • I can tell you in Edinburgh where the fuckers are and it’s nothing to do with muslims or the council. Everyone one of these twats are white and English/scottish, most of them that I have met are suffering from delusions that are close to mental illness, they need to be locked up as terrorists because that’s what they are.

We need to stop perpetuating the myth that pro Palestine “activists” are Muslim, they are not, they are almost all middle class and British wannabe communists.

  1. This needs to be dealt with harshly to stop it and quickly.

Attacking defence workers at home is intimidation to undermine national security.

Our defence as a nation is top of all of the priority lists and so therefore are the people who work in the sector as we rebuild it.
