Elistair has introduced a new dual payload option for its Khronos tethered drone system, pairing a Silvus StreamCaster 4200P tactical radio with a Nextvision DragonEye2 electro-optical camera.

The company says the configuration turns the platform into a combined communications relay and surveillance node intended for units that need both functions without fielding separate systems.

The firm describes the upgraded Khronos as a variable height antenna designed to stabilise and extend tactical mesh networks, including in environments where GPS is unreliable. The platform retains its existing specifications, operating at around 60 meters for up to 24 hours, with power and data supplied through its tethered “dronebox” base.

Elistair is pitching the setup at military and special operations units looking for fast deployment and persistent coverage. It argues the dual role reflects demand for multi-function aerial masts rather than single-purpose tethered cameras or radios. The configuration will be shown publicly for the first time at Milipol 2025 on stand 5F147.

The company says the development forms part of a wider effort to adapt its systems for more contested environments and emerging communications requirements. Elistair, which brands itself as the “tethered drone company,” supplies militaries, police and security forces in more than 70 countries.
