L3Harris Technologies has been awarded a contract by Austal USA to support the first T-AGOS-25 class ocean surveillance ship for the US Navy, the company stated.
The agreement names L3Harris as the single system vendor, responsible for integrating electric and propulsion systems aboard the new class of vessels. According to the company, the T-AGOS-25 ships are intended to strengthen anti-submarine warfare readiness by providing underwater acoustic surveillance for fleet operations in both the Atlantic and Pacific.
T-AGOS ships are essential for strategic deterrence and operational awareness to meet the Navy’s requirements for anti-submarine warfare readiness, said Nino DiCosmo, President of Maritime at L3Harris. As Austal USA’s single system vendor, we will deliver a reliable, high-performing surveillance ship to achieve the Navy’s strategic objectives.
The T-AGOS-25 ships will employ passive and active acoustic systems to track submarines. They are designed around a small waterplane area twin-hull (SWATH) configuration, described by the company as larger and faster than the vessels they are set to replace.
TAGOS-class ships are a long-standing element of the US Navy’s ocean surveillance fleet, which collect acoustic data in support of anti-submarine warfare and broader maritime situational awareness. The new class is expected to expand on that role, while also reflecting updated requirements for contested maritime environments.
L3Harris said the partnership with Austal USA continues its work in integrated maritime solutions, aiming to deliver systems that meet evolving operational demands across undersea warfare and fleet security.
Clearly not going for the aesthetic look.

Hi Halfwit,
I can never tell if you ae serious or not:) but the T-AGOS 25 ships should have a similar appearance to the existing Victorious class and Impeccable class T-AGOS ships, if you want to look one of them up. Wish we could post photos here.

Bugger, I’ll try and fix that ASAP 🤔
Thanks for the link, I’ll go take a gander.
This is what T92 would look like, if we gave each of them more budget than a T26!
Closer to home, BMT recently revealed concepts for 40m and 70m USVs for seabed and anti-submarine warfare. Looks like T92 is going to be big.
