Lockheed Martin has announced Chauncey McIntosh as the new vice president and general manager of the F-35 Lightning II Programme, effective 1 December 2024. McIntosh will succeed Bridget Lauderdale, who is retiring at the end of the year following a 38-year career with the company.
McIntosh, who currently serves as vice president and deputy of the F-35 program, brings more than 20 years of experience in business, programme management, engineering, and customer engagement.
The firm say that in his new role, he will focus on enhancing customer experiences, advancing the F-35’s capabilities, and ensuring the programme meets the speed, agility, and affordability requirements of both U.S. and international customers.
McIntosh previously led Lockheed Martin’s Integrated Warfare Systems & Sensors business, where he oversaw the transformation of the Aegis Weapon System software development.
Prior to that, he managed the company’s Training and Logistics Solutions line of business, supporting mission readiness and sustainment programs, including the F-35. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business administration from American InterContinental University.
Greg Ulmer, president of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, praised McIntosh’s appointment, stating: “Chauncey is an exceptional leader with distinct qualifications needed to lead the F-35 program. His selection showcases the strength and depth of Lockheed Martin’s leadership succession planning.”
