The Ministry of Defence has said there are no plans to second homeland security personnel to the Royal Military Police to tackle far-right extremism within the Armed Forces.

Responding to a written question from Conservative MP Mark Pritchard, Veterans Minister Al Carns said existing systems are considered sufficient to identify and address extremist activity.

“The British Army takes far-right extremism extremely seriously and is fully equipped to act swiftly and decisively where necessary to uphold its high standards,” he said.

Carns added that “robust measures are firmly in place to prevent and address any such activity,” and that current frameworks and partnerships are already effective in managing the issue.

The minister confirmed that “there are no plans to second homeland security personnel to the Royal Military Police,” indicating no immediate expansion of external involvement in military policing or counter-extremism functions.

  1. Far right extremism, what a complete joke.
How about sorting the mass feral gangs maurauding around places in London causing chaos on the streets. We never wanted them here in the first place. How about sorting out the 10’s of thousands of Islamic extremists in the country, we never wanted them here either.
Don’t remember any Far right attacks in Britain, i can mention plenty of Islamist attacks.
Europe wide there are Islamist attacks every week somewhere, nobody wanted them there either.
Not interested in government playing ‘look theres a squirrel!’ games, we all know the truth.

    • 💯 Luke, far right what absolute nonsense they should concentrate on islamic terrorism, you know the one’s explode at concerts, use vehicles to mow people down, the list goes on and on, how many islamic terrorists on MI5…

      • You’re saying the military need Homeland Security personnel seconded into the RMP specifically to concentrate on Islamic terrorism in the Armed Forces?

        • Im saying the government need to lay off with the relentless gaslighting of the population, there is no far right threat to speak of seriously anywhere in Britain. The threat is and always has been Islamic. Same all over Europe.

          • Wrong! There are many extremist right terror plots. The reason why you don’t hear of them is the sterling work done by the various domestic agencies. However, for every one person on the extreme right being watched, there are over 80 Islamists. In fact, it is a losing battle with case officers in the North West, Midlands, North East and South East England offices being reduced in number each year. People retiring are not being replaced, leaving desk officers with a heavier burden: managing fewer case officers who, in turn, have to manage more agents and follow up on reports and referrals. A computer can only give you data, not a feel or a twitch.

              • Correct.
A case in point look at Sweden. Its gone from one of the safest countries in Europe to very dangerous in the cities. There are hundreds of bombings every year all caused by mass immigration from Islamic countries. Theres a now no go areas in Sweden and the authorities have no idea how to solve the issue.
Mass immigration and multiculcuralism have been a catastrophe for Europe

Fortunately, as befitting their political views, most far-right would-be terrorists are idiots and are arrested before they can commit any attacks.

                • Spock, thanks for the list. That’s three incidents in the UK over the period that you considered, 1999 – 2022. I am more fearful of attacks by Islamic extremists.

                  • Don’t bother with him. He’s beyond help at this point but I doubt he would ever willingly live in a muslim neighbourhood 😄

                    • There’s no such thing, but you’d probably consider my London Borough to be one.

So you’re wrong, for the umpteenth time. You seem to be the Anti-Sherlock 😂

                  • The accusation was that all the attacks in Europe were Islamic and that one attack by the far-right couldn’t be named.
I simply showed how ridiculously untrue that statement was.

I’d didn’t bother to cite the long list of attacks planned by the far-right that were prevented in the U.K. Not that I want to diminish the hard-work if the British police and security services, but the far-right are pretty stupid and it’s not surprising most planned attacks are stopped early on. (The police seem to arrest them once they have acquired weapons, presumably as this makes convictions more certain.)

I’m sorry to hear you’re so poor that you never get to visit ‘Europe’ and that you are so antisocial that you have no friends living there.
BTW I have some shocking news for you… the UK is part of Europe.

  2. Following the clearly provocative mass Muslim prayer episode in Trafalgar square, is it too much to hope that Starmer has realised the need for pushback?
His Easter message was scarcely reported in the press. This is an extract ( courtesy Sky News).
‘Across the country, churches and Christian communities quietly and tirelessly support families, children and neighbours – offering comfort, bringing people together, and standing alongside those who need it most. It is precisely that spirit of service which exemplifies national renewal, and reflects the very heart of Christ’s example.’
As my grandmother used to say ‘ I’ll go to the foot of our stairs’.

  3. The under Armed Army too busy reviewing its policy on ear rings and make up to tackle any one who might be extreme, then we know which way extremism is viewed and its likely not left leaning extremism that get looked in to. And if were hard line left its likely you would not bother to serve in the Army any way,not enough veagen meals in ration packs. yet,

  4. Why does Conservative MP Mark Pritchard pose this question? Does he think there is an epidemic of far-right extremism in HM Forces and that the RMP (and no doubt the other service police) will be swamped? He has an interesting and chequered background accordng to his Wikipedia entry. He has been a humble backbencer for nearly 21 years – is he trying to now make a name for himself?

  5. Starmer is only interested in welcoming more Muslims. Haven’t you seen the videos of the police arresting Britons for wearing the Union Jack or praying in public? It’s an endophobic and anti-British government.
