UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace convened a crucial meeting with his German counterpart, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, in Berlin.

The gathering occurred just days after the UK declared it will be the first nation to provide long-range strike capabilities to Ukraine, a significant move in the global effort to empower Ukraine against Russia’s unlawful invasion.

“…the UK will be the first nation to provide Ukraine with long range strike capabilities as part of continuing support to ensure Ukraine can defend themselves against Russia’s illegal invasion.”

The UK’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s cause was also reflected in President Zelenskyy’s recent visits to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Germany. These high-profile meetings signal an ongoing commitment to Euro-Atlantic security and stability through NATO and international partnerships.

“…commitment of NATO allies and the international community to support Ukraine in recent days, with big pledges for further military aid and training.”

Economic Support and Sanctions Bolster Military Aid

The UK is working in concert with its NATO partners, notably Germany, and the wider G7 community to secure Ukraine’s long-term stability. It aims to do this by augmenting military aid and training with economic support, sanctions against Putin’s regime, and long-term security assurances, reinforcing Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Unyielding Resolve to Uphold Democratic Freedoms and Rights

Wallace highlighted the strong bond between the UK and Germany in their mutual support for Ukraine. He emphasised their collective endeavour to uphold democratic freedoms and rights, not only in Europe but worldwide.

“…both nations are determined to stand strongly behind Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.”

UK Increases Military Aid to Ukraine, Germany Follows Suit

In a major development, Prime Minister Sunak, during President Zelenskyy’s visit to the UK, announced the provision of hundreds more air defence missiles to Ukraine in the upcoming months. This includes investment in strategic UAS systems and hundreds of state-of-the-art long-range attack drones.

Germany also pledged further aid, including Leopard 1 tanks, Gepard anti-aircraft systems, reconnaissance drones, and artillery ammunition, demonstrating the allies’ growing commitment.

The UK and Germany, significant European contributors to NATO, are eagerly anticipating the Vilnius Summit in Lithuania this July. This summit will provide an opportunity for all alliance members to reflect on the future of the alliance, address unprecedented security challenges, affirm support to Ukraine, and reiterate their steadfast commitment to Euro-Atlantic security.

Joint NATO Air Policing Missions Showcase NATO’s Solidarity

Demonstrating their collective commitment, Typhoon aircraft from the Royal Air Force and the German Air Force have conducted joint NATO air policing missions in Estonia this year, including intercepting a Russian aircraft approaching Estonian airspace.

The recent successful evacuation operation from Sudan, an international initiative, underscores the effective collaboration between the UK and allies like Germany and France.

“…successful cooperation between the UK and allies including Germany and France.”

I sincerely hope none of our “gifted” munitions were in that stockpile In Khmelnytskyi that recently went up after being targeted successfully by the Russians as reported by the Mail online. It’s bad enough we’re pishing U.K. tax payer money up against the wall on this but even worse the Ukrainian authorities deem it necessary to store these weapons near built up civilian areas clearly not giving 2 shites about their own people. Every man and his dog knows the Russians equally don’t give 2 shites about civilian casualties. Truly a miracle no fatalities although the mayor of the region… Read more »

I think the evidence is that Khmelnytskyi was not an ammunition dump. The explosion had none of the characteristics of an ammunition store exploding (no secondaries, fireball characteristic of gas or liquid combusting etc.etc). Most likely it was one of the storage facilities for Soviet era rocket fuel that the Ukrainians had slowly been re-processing for many years (it’s expensive to do & they were getting some help from the US). The next most likely target was conventional fuel storage, but Ukraine has been using a distributed supply system from the outset of the war, making such a large storage facility… Read more »

According to U.K. press reports today highly likely depleted Uranium shells . Interestingly UNIT has issued a report warning of the toxic gamma radiation picked up by detectors in Poland ,Slovakia, Hungary and Easter Germany now drifting West as a result of this strike ( of course the Bolshevik bullshit corporation and rest of the lying MSM won’t ever report on that)

I think it’s safe to say it was an ammo dump man.

It’s a strange situation. We are vigorously supporting Ukraine with so much material and training that it must be costing the UK defence and contingency budgets hugely.
In fact by my estimate most of the recent defence budget uplifts are being swallowed up by the need to supply Ukraine and replace donated hardware.
There is no easy way out and it’s certainly cheaper for a coalition of countries to supply Ukraine then for NATO to fight Russia directly.
I’m surprised HMG haven’t tried to raise taxes or generate revenue in other ways to pay for the war in Ukraine.

the reality is the Uk government is spending about 2.2 billion a year on Ukraine which is essentially pocket money in regards to government spending ( £1189 Billion).

Pocket money considering if the UK were to go to war with Russia, the costs would not fit into a pocket! Ukraine is destroying the Russian power not only to protect the UN Charter and International Law, but also the European values and order.

What makes you think Sunak hasn’t raised taxes already that more than cover it? In the 2021 Budget then Chancellor Sunak announced that the income tax personal allowance and the higher rate threshold would be frozen for four years from 2022/23 to 2025/26. The OBR forecast the freeze to the personal allowance and higher rate threshold would raise £2.9 billion in 2022/23, rising to £18.0 billion by 2025/26. Notice how this raised more money last year than we spent on Ukraine and it’ll ramp up for three more years without anyone having to mention it again. Those four years alone… Read more »
