  1. Gosh, these pictures are like water to a very thirsty individual! Fantastic stuff. Really hope events like these and the pressure of having two carriers forces an uplift in warship numbers and in the creation of lph ships of some degree. Am genuinely optimistic about this.

    • Agreed! I doubt that having two carriers will prompt a flurry of uplift in escort numbers although I understand that we will go from 19 to 21 escorts in the fullness of time (via a figure of 17!). Not sure we will ever have the 2 carriers on task together, except as a PR stunt, hence we have enough escorts at 19 – 21.
      What does ‘1ph’ mean?

  2. Good to see the ships are practicing social distancing….be interesting to know what steel lurks beneath the waves too.

  3. Very impressive indeed. I like Gareth’s comment; “…be interested to know what steel lurks beneath the waves…”. I would imagine it’s like the tip of an iceberg – 90% of the fleet’s firepower lies beneath the surface.
