The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services Inc., based in Rockville, Maryland, a $91.5 million contract to support its air traffic control and landing systems (ATCALS).
The contract was announced on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from Patuxent River, Maryland.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N0001923D0020) will cover a variety of services, including fleet services, technical support, and operational software development and maintenance.
Specifically, BAE Systems will offer “test bed support; repair, fabrication, and restoration support; training support; local area network support; and quality assurance and system safety services.”
The services covered by the contract will benefit not only the Navy but also the Marine Corps, Military Sealift Command, Coast Guard, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The Department of Defense mentioned that the contract was “competitively procured via an electronic request for proposal and that two offers were received in response.”
Work related to the contract will primarily be conducted in St. Inigoes, Maryland (48.84%), followed by Patuxent River, Maryland (37.21%), Norfolk, Virginia (11.62%), and San Diego, California (2.33%). The contract is expected to be fulfilled by February 2029.
