The U.S. Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114), carried out a routine transit through the Taiwan Strait on August 22, according to a press release.

The transit took place in international waters, within a corridor beyond the territorial sea of any coastal state, in accordance with international law governing freedom of navigation and overflight.

This operation by the USS Ralph Johnson is part of the United States’ ongoing commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation for all nations. The release states that “no member of the international community should be intimidated or coerced into giving up their rights and freedoms.”

The U.S. military asserts its right to fly, sail, and operate in any area where international law permits.

The right of innocent passage allows ships to travel in other countries’ territorial seas if it is not prejudicial to the peace, good order or security of the coastal state. However, some countries like China demand warships to attain prior authorisation before they enter what China consider to be Chinese national waters.

Pooh Bear comes from Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, England and has never been to China, so don’t see any relevance here.

Evaluation of CCP claims to Spratleys and Paracel Islands have been shown to be defective in international law. Conformity with international law being a requirement for global trade…

Might be in a time warp but I was referring to the widely banned cartoon parody of Xi and Obama transposed from Pooh and Tigger. The fallout from said cartoon and . . . Wait am I the only one who remembers this.

I’m sorry that either the ban was effective or my memory defective, and I can’t tell which being a bear of little brain…

China is THE manufacturer of synthetic honey, which through nefarious means exports to the US, EU and UK; definitely something to be stopped.

Did the Chinese frigate obtain permission to sail up the channel last week? It’s China double standards that costs them dearly on the international diplomatic front. Ham fisted, inexperienced and incapable is how their leadership comes across.

They will remain a regional power for some time due to this.

This goes back to the international community being based on the law and the idea that Chinese ideas should not be allowed to become ‘facts.’

Stop using TEMU, stop importing Chinese goods and actively source from countries other than China – destroy their economy and you destroy their military.

The only vote we have with the CCP dictatorship is not to buy their supposedly cheap products which in reality is an exchange of sovereign capabilities and so a loss of freedom.
A very bad bargain and something not priced into the deal at all, which allows the globalist to trade away our freedom without any accounting of that.

Two months ago frigate Zr.Ms. Tromp sailed through there and endured the complete harassment package from the Chinese. Nothing new.
