KNDS and EOS Defence Systems have signed a teaming agreement aimed at expanding cooperation on remote-controlled weapon stations and associated weapons, the companies have announced.

The agreement sets out a framework for joint work across marketing and product development, with the firms stating they intend to combine their expertise in medium calibre weapons, remote weapon stations, and integrated counter-drone solutions.

According to KNDS, the partnership is intended to respond to demand for medium calibre weapons in the 30x113mm class, including land and naval applications. KNDS said it will propose its ITAR-free 30M781 Multi Purpose Gun (30×113) as part of the cooperation.

“This teaming agreement reflects our shared commitment to respond to evolving operational requirements requesting high level medium caliber weapons in 30×113 caliber. KNDS proposes its ITAR-free 30M781-Multi Purpose Gun (30×113) dedicated to land and naval missions,” said Olivier Travert, Chief Sales Executive Officer of KNDS France.

EOS said the partnership would combine its counter-drone systems with KNDS weapons and vehicle platforms to offer exportable solutions.

“By combining EOS best-in-class Counter-drone systems with state-of-the art medium caliber weapons and vehicles from KNDS, this partnership will provide modern and ITAR free evolutive solutions for armed forces, in a constantly changing environment,” said Andreas Schwer, CEO of EOS.

The companies said they will work together to identify new business opportunities in markets including the Middle East and North Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe. They also stated that the agreement could enable co-development of new products, including integration of ITAR-free weapon systems and technologies.

The firms added that the agreement supports the sharing of relevant intellectual property, technical knowledge, and research outcomes to accelerate commercialisation and deployment of jointly developed systems.
