Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS has signed a contract with Marvin Engineering worth £11.5 million to supply air-to-air pylons for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

More commonly known as a ‘hardpoint’, a pylon is a location on an airframe designed to carry an external load.

The agreement covers production lot 14 for all variants of the fighter, say the firm.

“This contract confirms KONGSBERG’s capabilities as a key supplier to the F-35 Program. We continue our long standing relationship with Marvin Engineering providing continued production through 2022 in KONGSBERG’s facilities”, Terje Bråthen, Executive Vice President Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS, was quoted as saying.

Marvin Engineering say they are a qualified manufacturing source of the external Air-to-Air pylon for the F-35 Lightning.
