L3Harris Technologies has been selected to provide its Integrated Platform Management System for Poland’s new Miecznik-class frigates, in a contract awarded by state-owned shipyard PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, according to the company.
The IPMS will manage ship performance, reliability and safety across the Miecznik frigates, which are based on the Arrowhead 140 ship design by Babcock International and form part of what has been described as the largest contract in Polish shipbuilding history.
L3Harris said the system would optimise situational awareness, operational efficiency and safety for the new warships.
Nino DiCosmo, President of Maritime, Space and Mission Systems at L3Harris, said the Miecznik-class frigates powered by the company’s IPMS represented “the future of maritime defence, providing Poland with superior combat power and a strategic edge in regional waters” and that the solution would strengthen Poland’s defence industrial capabilities while enabling the fleet to “extend operational range and endurance.”
L3Harris said its IPMS incorporated functionalities derived from working with the Royal Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Canadian Navy, and had been delivered to nearly 300 vessels across 28 navies worldwide since its development.

Interesting that it is not a full copy of T31 in this regards.
All three A140 favours are currently quite different.
Apart from the shape and rough tonnage there’s pretty much nothing the same between them.
As far as I can tell they also all have the same propulsion system.
It looks pretty well kitted out. Hopefully the T31 after CIP might be as capable or as close as possible to these, plus a few more ordered to give more capabilities the fleet would be a great uplift.
No sonar planned for the T31, sadly.
It seems a really silly omission but the discontinued Constellation class didn’t have one either and I’m not sure if the new US light frigate will too? It kind of looks like a T31 in terms of armament levels…lol. Do you know if Babcock ever tried and sell the A140 to the US? Imagine that, i think i read somewhere they’re looking at having over 50 of them?
I’ve gained $17,240 only within four weeks by comfortably working part-time from home. Immediately when I had lost my last business, I was very troubled and thankfully I’ve located this project now in this way I’m in a position to receive thousand USD directly from home. Each individual certainly can do this easy work & make more greenbacks online by visiting

Doesn’t the Miecznik have 16 cannister missiles, not 8 shown on the image?
There’s 4 mk41s there of 8 for 32 cells. That should be the same with the CIP on T31.
