Three P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and aircrew from U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron 10 commenced their involvement in exercise Breeze 2024 on July 11.

The annual exercise, directed by the Bulgarian Navy, is being held in the Black Sea, near Varna, Bulgaria, according to a press release.

Breeze 2024, now in its 28th year, includes participation from Albania, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Türkiye, the United States, and NATO’s Allied Maritime Command.

The exercise aims to enhance operational and tactical interoperability among the participating nations, improve interagency cooperation, and assess the capabilities of Bulgarian Navy units. Key mission areas covered in the exercise include anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, force protection/anti-terrorism operations, maritime interdiction operations, and anti-piracy activities, as detailed in the press release.

The U.S. 6th Fleet, based in Naples, Italy, and responsible for a broad range of joint and naval operations, is a significant contributor to the exercise. These operations are often conducted in collaboration with allied and interagency partners to promote U.S. national interests and ensure security and stability in Europe and Africa. This information was underscored in the press release.

Its proof to me that Putin’s red lines mean nothing- hes terrified of the west. the first thing he’d do which would not get a military response from the west would be to take out that RQ-4 thats almost constantly in the black sea near crimea feeding intel to the ukrainians. We must send more weapons and take restrictions off how they are used. he won’t do anything!
