Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed that two North Korean soldiers, reportedly fighting alongside Russian forces, have been captured by Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region.

Despite their injuries, the soldiers survived and have been transported to Kyiv, where they are now in the custody of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and receiving medical treatment.

The operation to capture these soldiers was described as particularly challenging due to a reported practice by Russian forces and North Korean military personnel of executing their wounded to prevent any evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the war.

Zelenskyy stated, “This was not an easy task: Russian forces and other North Korean military personnel usually execute their wounded to erase any evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the war against Ukraine.”

He praised the soldiers involved in the operation, specifically the efforts of Tactical Group No. 84 of the Special Operations Forces and Ukrainian paratroopers, whose actions led to the safe capture of the prisoners. The Ukrainian president confirmed that, as with all prisoners of war, the captured North Korean soldiers are receiving appropriate medical care in accordance with international law.

Zelenskyy also stressed the importance of transparency regarding these developments. “I have instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to grant journalists access to these prisoners. The world needs to know the truth about what is happening,” he stated.

With journalists now being granted access, the captured soldiers’ testimony could further illuminate the dynamics of North Korean involvement.

Gotta love how the appologists are claiming that they are just ethnic Russian minorities.

Indeed, losing the edit is a huge loss, as is losing email notifications when people reply. Not keen on the new “space invaders” icons either.

It’s a gravatar, a single icon that is associated with your email across multiple accounts. If you Google it it should come up (I did mine like a decade + ago for my own comment section on my own website so apologies I can’t remember the exact process)

Does the Geneva Convention permit captured personnel to be ‘paraded’ or interviewed on camera?

Otherwise, this is good work on Ukrainian’s behalf but won’t change the pro-Putin claque’s attitude one bit. “Russian Sami’s’

Apparently the Third Geneva Convention prohibits POWs to be ‘paraded in public’ to protect their dignity. However, many countries do not respect this. Reminds me of the Tornado pilot John (?) and navigator John Nichol, who were shot down and were subseqently shown on Iraqi TV – complete with dreadful facial injuries from mistreatment.

I don’t think it does, but then again Ukraine needs to do so to absolutely prove 100% to the world that North Korean troops are indeed fighting in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to the BBC the N Koreans & Russians are shooting their wounded N Koream troops to avoid any being captured. Hence UKR special forces coup in actually capturing these guys.
Putin using foriegn fighters should be the green light for any willing NATO nations to directly fight alongside the weary UKRs.

Fully agree.

Putin has NK troops fighting for him; no reason why a couple of NATO brigades can’t enter Ukraine.

If nothing else, take over logistics and manning the Ukraine/Belarus border to free up Ukrainian brigades to head east and fight the Orcs.

Not enough, clearly.

Western mercs and volunteers don’t come armed with tanks and artillery like the Wagner Group did.

At this point I think NATO should send a few brigades into Ukraine, even if only to take over logistics and border guarding units close to Belarus & Transnistria, to free up Ukrainian troops to get into the fight in the east, south or Kursk.

The famous ‘one legged’ North Korean General Ty Won Shu, and his ‘We don fuk’ assault division have been captured by the famous Ukrainians Ivor Stash and Senda Morcash.
Zelensky needs another £ 1 billion for rice tiger beer for them.

I don’t like warmongering imbeciles Russian, American, European, Israeli, Arab,
Chinese and anyone else who can’t debate war without name calling, you my friend can’t see the wood for the trees and are willingly being manipulated by mainstream propaganda.
Media and especially politics has become the continuation of warfare by any means.
You Steve remind me of the school teacher in ‘all quiet on the western front’ if you ain’t read it, it’s a must read for all warmongers.

Hiya Frank
of course you ain’t done any research and are just repeating mainstream media/political propaganda like most of earthly society, well carry on believing the last leaders and elites of our civilization if you must.
Have a dive into Victoria Nuland (American ambassador) and nearer to home Boris Johnson for Ostfront history.
I personally abhor violence in all its forms especially the wanton killing of innocents but alas it now appears to be the norm for us and them my friend.
