A French-supplied SCALP cruise missile mounted on a Ukrainian Su-24 has been pictured sporting the text “De Paris avec amour, Rachysty, allez en enfer”, which translates as ‘From Paris with love, Russia go to hell’.

The image can be seen here.

It was reported recently that France will supply Ukraine with about 40 more Scalp-EG cruise missiles and hundreds of bombs in coming weeks, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a press conference Tuesday evening.

Named Storm Shadow in British service and SCALP in French service, the missile is an air-launched long range, conventionally armed, deep strike weapon, designed to meet the demanding requirements of pre-planned attacks against high value fixed or stationary targets.

Able to be operated in extreme conditions, the weapon offers operators a highly flexible, deep-strike capability based around a sophisticated mission planning system.

Storm Shadow/SCALP has been put into operations with the Royal Air Force and the French Air Force in 2003 and was used in the Gulf, Iraq and Libya. The weapon is now in service with three other nations, giving unrivalled deep strike capability.

  1. There was a very interesting story from Germany last week, where it was revealed that the UK was to do a swop with Germany regards cruise Missiles, where the Uk would hand over more Storm Shadows and receive from Germany a number of Tarus Missiles in return. Not sure of the veracity of the story, but the Germans have come out and stated they dont know anything about this:

German defense minister doesn’t ‘know anything’ about missile swap with UK

BERLIN — German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said he doesn’t know about any plans for a missile swap between Germany and the U.K.

German newspaper Handelsblatt reported Wednesday that London recently offered Germany a deal: The U.K. would give Ukraine its Storm Shadow cruise missiles and in exchange Germany would fill the gap by sending its Taurus missiles to Britain.

“I don’t know anything about this offer. If there are talks about it, then not in my ministry,” Pistorius said on Thursday in an interview.

Ukraine asked Germany for its Taurus missiles in last May — but German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declined the request in October. At the time, he warned that the delivery of the Taurus would escalate the war.

Before the German government accepts any deal with the U.K., it must first determine “whether it is feasible or not,” Pistorius said.

“Taurus is a highly technical system, not comparable with the products of other nations,” Pistorius said.

While the Taurus and the Storm Shadow are similar, the German cruise missile is better suited to attacking targets like the Kerch Strait Bridge linking Russia with occupied Crimea, but that worries Berlin
