In a surprising twist to the conflict between India and Pakistan, the official Twitter account of the Government of Pakistan has posted footage from the video game ARMA 3, claiming it shows a real military response to alleged Indian aggression.
The footage, which features a Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) engaging a target, was accompanied by statements from Information Minister Attaullah Tarar praising the Pakistan Armed Forces for their “timely and nerve-wracking response.”
The minister criticised India’s “war madness and selfishness” and vowed a “befitting reply” to any acts of aggression. However, users quickly pointed out that the clip was unmistakably from the popular military simulation game ARMA 3 rather than real combat footage.

The tweet has since sparked widespread ridicule on social media, with many questioning how a government account could mistake video game visuals for authentic military footage. As of now, the post remains live, and no official clarification has been issued by the Pakistani government.
This incident follows similar cases in the past where ARMA 3 footage was misrepresented as real military action, raising concerns about the reliability of online information shared by official sources.
Arma 3, developed by Bohemia Interactive, is a military simulation game known for its high-fidelity graphics and extensive modding capabilities. These features allow users to create and share custom scenarios that closely mimic real-world military operations. The game’s realism has inadvertently made it a source of misinformation, with its footage being used to depict false narratives in various global conflicts.
101 How to lose credibility.
Idiots! These buffoons make the likes of Starmer, Bojo and Trump look like Nobel Prize winners. Easy to see why Pakistan is in the state it’s in; a failed state.
I wouldn’t get too distracted by this story.
You don’t have to like the regime in Islamabad to acknowledge that Pakistan has always had a pretty good air force. One that grew out of the Royal Air Force – and today still retains many RAF traditions.
Certainly, the best pilots in the Islamic world. They have racked up an impressive list of victories since claiming their first kill in 1959 (an EE Canberra) – including Hawkers Hunters in the 1965 & 1971 wars with India. And even Soviet aircraft during the Afghan War.
Some Pakistan pilots were even too good for the Israeli Air Force during the wars of 1967 and 1973.
So news of more air combat success this week shouldn’t be a surprise. And it is significant that the Pakistan Air Force has used Chinese made fighters and missiles to shoot down at least two Indian aircraft in a large BVR engagement – including a Dassault Rafale.
Has there been any reliable confirmation that Rafaels were lost?
The French confirmed one was shot down, probably by a Chinese PL15.
Hi Danielle
US intelligence sources have reportedly confirmed that at least two Indian fighters were shot-down by Pakistan J-10Cs on 7th May – one of them a Rafale. The long range PL-15E missile was used.
In a press conference today, Pakistan senior officers gave a very confident briefing – and reiterated their claim for three Rafales being shot-down, along with a SU-30MKI and a MiG-29. As some evidence, there was an intercepted voice recording from a Rafale formation that seemed to confirm the loss of one wingman – “Reporting Explosion in Air”.
All the claimed kills have fallen on Indian territory.
It seems to have been the biggest BVR battle yet; according to the Pakistan briefing, there 72 Indian Air Force aircraft in the sky, countered by 42 aircraft from the Pakistan Air Force.
It’s not particularly newsworthy that a Dassault fighter has been shot-down, but it is significant that Chinese made fighters and missiles did the damage.
Morning Alan.
Thank you.
We left India and Pakistan many great institutions and traditions but unfortunately we also left them with the worst tabloid press in the world.
