BAE Systems has introduced Silver Link, a new family of modular conformal antenna systems designed to support next-generation air dominance programmes and improve airborne communications, according to the company.
The Silver Link product line is intended to provide adaptable antenna solutions that can move rapidly from prototype development to fleet integration while meeting customer cost and schedule requirements, according to the company.
BAE Systems said the new portfolio builds on more than 30 years of experience developing conformal antenna technology for defence programmes. “With Silver Link, we are leveraging our rich legacy of delivering results for our customers with speed and scale, and we’re backing it with significant internal investment to move faster, reduce cost, and eliminate integration risk,” said Lindsay McEwen, vice president and general manager of Tactical Solutions for BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems.
The antennas are designed to integrate with a wide range of platforms and conform to the shape of the host aircraft, helping preserve aerodynamic performance and structural integrity. The company said this approach is intended to support assured communications while reducing the need for bespoke antenna designs.
BAE Systems added that the Silver Link product line is designed to reduce development timelines and manufacturing costs by offering modular solutions rather than custom-built systems. The company said expanded facilities and in-house rapid prototyping capabilities will support manufacturing and scaling of the systems for defence customers.
