The UK government has confirmed that it will have supplied Ukraine with tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition, thousands of drones, and a range of advanced weapons systems by the end of the 2024-25 financial year, with further significant support planned for 2025-26.

Responding to a parliamentary question from Lord Weir of Ballyholme, Defence Minister Lord Coaker outlined the scale of the UK’s commitment, stating: “Since the start of the conflict, we have provided Ukraine with over ten million rounds of various types of ammunition, delivered 500,000 artillery shells, hundreds of armoured vehicles, over 10,000 drones, a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks, Storm Shadow cruise missiles and over 15,000 anti-tank weapons.”

The high pace of military aid deliveries will continue, with an additional “10,000 drones under the drone capability coalition and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition” expected to reach Ukraine before April 2025.

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 financial year, the UK has committed to supplying Ukraine with a range of advanced weaponry, including “15 Gravehawk air defence systems, a significant quantity of the recently announced 650 Lightweight Multi-Role Missiles (LMM), and the majority of the recently announced £150 million support package.”

Lord Coaker also confirmed that the UK’s total support for Ukraine, including military, economic, and humanitarian aid, now stands at £12.8 billion. He added: “The UK will spend £4.5 billion on military support for Ukraine this year – more than ever before.”

The UK government say it remains in close dialogue with Kyiv to ensure aid aligns with Ukraine’s evolving battlefield needs, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining long-term military support against Russian aggression.

  1. Am I missing something but on 3rd of March HMG announced so have ordered 5000 LMM from Belfast, but today it’s just 650. So could this be UK war stocks being ramped up perhaps ?

  2. A handful of ShortRAD maybe a thousand light drones a month, some near life expired munitions… Is this really the best we can do?

  3. Vast amounts of equipment and ordinances have been donated to Ukraine, 500,000 artillery shells are one example. Has the country built any new factories to produce weapons? The answer is No! In fact, no new manufacturing facility has been built in any non-US NATO nation since 2015. Britain pledged £2bn last week on top of the previous sum of arms and equipment to Ukraine that would cost £2.71bn to replace, largely in addition to the £7.8bn since Russia invaded. That’s 23.20% of our £53.9bn Defence budget. Where is the extra government spending to make up for that 20.20%? It will take years to make up for that shortfall in the UK. In Europe, there’s no headroom in manufacturing to take up anywhere near the €85bn the EU invented out of thin air for a rearming surge.

    • As far as I can see there is new capacity being added all over Europe.

No, I’m not posting a list – but Perun on Youtube (for one) has covered this repeatedly.
