Defence Secretary Michael Fallon informed Parliament that the UK will provide a £971,000 gifting package as part of our non-lethal support being provided to the UAF.

The equipment being gifted includes 170 large tents, 170 heating units and 600 sets of cold weather clothing.

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said:

“The UK is committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

That is why we are providing this gift of non-lethal equipment, to further help prevent Ukrainian fatalities and casualties, strengthen their defensive capability and build their resilience.”

Despite the latest ceasefire, UAF personnel remain deployed in the areas affected by conflict and continue to suffer fatalities and casualties.

The proposed gifting package, which has been agreed with the UAF, is designed to prevent further Ukrainian fatalities and casualties and to help improve resilience on the ground.

Why would we need Putins help? he’s got an armed forces which is some years behind ours and quite honestly he’s considered a dictator by most of the world. No-one here cares what Russia thinks anymore!

Interesting how about keeping out and us that money to protect our own country. Also someone some Davey the Russia is a country who holds the 2nd biggest nuclear stockpile and those thousand of warheads could waste our land many times compared to our token 220 warheads.

You keep mentioning Russia’s Nuclear stockpile David but as was stated before 225 warheads is enough to remove every city in Russia! Giving a million pounds to Ukraine is well worth it IMHO. Frankly we should give them lots of anti-tank and anti aircraft missiles too!

Well Done UK Government for backing the Ukrainians. Glad to see we’re doing the right thing. Keep up the pressure on the Russians. Their starting to run out of money and beginning to realise what a huge cock up they made over Ukraine. All this intervention in Syria is a sign of their strategic weakness. Kind of predictable. Their trying to trade assistance in Syria for western concession in Syria. Obvious game and easily countered.
