The 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has released a video showing the destruction of a Russian Su-25 jet on 10 June 2024.

The footage, shared on theUkrainian Ministry of Defence X account, captures the moment the aircraft was hit.

“Bravo, warriors!” read the accompanying message, commending the efforts of the Ukrainian soldiers involved in the operation.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that the Russian Su-25 fighter jet was shot down in the Pokrovsk sector. Russia has been carrying out intense attacks in multiple sections of the eastern front, which covers much of Donetsk Oblast, following its capture of the city of Avdiivka in February.

The Soviet-designed Su-25, nicknamed “Frogfoot” by NATO, is a heavily armoured ground-attack aircraft used to provide close air support for Russian ground troops. Several Russian Su-25s have reportedly been shot down recently, including two on 23 May.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, Russia’s total losses during the ongoing conflict amount to about 685 aircraft — 359 planes and 326 helicopters. However, these figures could not be independently verified.

Even on full screen I saw no flash/explosion or smoke. Even the dot of the jet had gone just before the operators shouted out at the kill.

Frogfoot is not a ‘nickname’, it’s an official NATO Reporting Name.

One can be pedantic or one can be wrong. Or sometimes both.
