The Airbus A400M Atlas is a multi-national, four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. It was designed by Airbus Military as a tactical airlifter with strategic capabilities to replace older transport aircraft, such as the Transall C-160 and the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. The A400M is positioned, in terms of size, between the C-130 and the C-17; it can carry heavier loads than the C-130, while able to use rough landing strips. Along with the transport role, the A400M can perform aerial refuelling and medical evacuation when fitted with appropriate equipment.
WATCH: A400M performs a highly unusual manoeuvre

Is that you, Tex Johnson?
They would use this maneuver to release a nuc
Yes, but this isn’t a bomber
lol, yeah, might toss it all of about half a mile 😉
How many flying-hours has that taken off its lifespan I wonder?
Reckon the pilot is charlirborne now, or out on his arse?
Easy when it’s empty and hardly any fuel on board, C-130 can do the same.
More impressive when the Vulcan did it
Will someone please say something positive! Good grief people! I think it looks awesome
Handy when you drop your phone down the side of your seat and can’t reach it.
I’ve seen it flying about down about Exeter and Frome for a few weeks now

Read Alex Henshaw’s book “Sigh for a Merlin”, he describes barrel rolling a Lancaster while the flight engineer was standing beside him. A properly executed Barrel Roll is a 1 g manoeuvre, no undue stress on the airframe then. No injury other than shock for the flight engineer either. So nothing wrong with the Atlas display either. Displaying aircraft are usually empty with enough fuel for the display plus reserves. Hence the rapid climb rate and responsiveness. Doubt he would have attempted it at MAUW.
