The Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACCC) hosted the 2025 Offensive Air Operations Conference in Poggio Renatico, Italy, bringing together over 30 air power experts from across NATO to assess the evolving landscape of air command and control.

This year’s event placed particular emphasis on the implications of NATO’s evolving Future Air C2 Model and the lessons identified from recent major Alliance exercises, including Ramstein Flag 24.

Participants engaged in detailed discussions on Composite Air Operations (COMAO), 5th Generation aircraft integration, and employment of stand-off weapons. Other sessions addressed time-sensitive targeting, space and non-kinetic effects, and air power’s role in supporting land and maritime components.

“The revised Air C2 Structure will be critical to our survivability,” said DACCC Deputy Commander Brigadier General Stefan Scheibl. “Offensive Ops planners need to seamlessly integrate effective Multi-Domain Operations that provide us with a decisive edge in contested environments.”

Colonel Josh Coakley, Director of the DACCC’s Deployable Air Operations Centre, closed the conference by highlighting the value of the dialogue: “Now is an incredibly important time for the Alliance… The exchange of ideas among subject matter experts at all levels and specialties lays the groundwork for our future success.”

The conference concluded with tabletop working groups, testing new approaches to coordinated air operations as NATO adapts to a rapidly shifting threat environment.
