The upcoming training exercises will take place at Condor Base from the 5th to the 7th of November, running from 4 PM to midnight each day. Coonciding with Guy Fawkes celebrations, local residents may experience background noise, as the Royal Marines train with live ammunition to replicate combat conditions.

45 Commando Royal Marines, a battalion-sized unit within 3 Commando Brigade, operates as a versatile amphibious force under the Fleet Commander. Based at RM Condor in Arbroath, this commando unit undertakes diverse operations and training deployments outside the UK, with all personnel earning the right to wear the green beret upon completing the rigorous Commando course at Lympstone, Devon.
In 2022, 350 marines from 45 Commando assisted the British embassy in Ukraine, with some members potentially providing weapons training to Ukrainian troops. Known for their adaptability, the unit’s capabilities enable them to support both national and international defence efforts across a range of operational tasks.
