825 Naval Air Squadron has announced that Course 11 has embarked on HMS Iron Duke to continue their deck landing training.
This follows a previous stint on RFA Tidespring in May.
The training is designed to provide flexibility for the squadron’s aircrew and engineers, allowing them to operate on both small and large flight decks within the Royal Navy.
We are back at sea! Course 11 have embarked on @HMSIronDuke to carry out some more Deck Landing Training after their stint on @RFATidespring in May. This experience gives them the flexibility to embark on the smallest and largest flight decks the RN has to offer! #NihilObstat pic.twitter.com/lQxgIkRBnO

The Royal Navy say that 825 Naval Air Squadron, based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, is part of the Wildcat Maritime Force and is responsible for training all Royal Navy Wildcat Helicopter Engineers and also acts as the Operational Conversion Unit to provide Aircrew to operate the Wildcat Helicopter Maritime Attack (HMA) Mk2 with 815 Naval Air Squadron on the frontline.
The Wildcat HMA Mk2 is the newest Helicopter in the Fleet Air Arm and is designed to operate from Frigates, Destroyers and Royal Fleet Auxiliary platforms across Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) and Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR).
To be honest I did wonder about the helicopter training now RFA Argus is deployed over seas? Thanks George
