The UK and EU have reached a deal that will allow for the AstraZeneca vaccine to be distributed in exchange for Royal Navy vessels to be built in Germany.

This comes one day after Germany suspended routine use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine for people aged below 60 because of a risk of rare blood clots.

The German medicines regulator found 31 cases of a type of rare blood clot among the nearly 2.7 million people who had received the vaccine in Germany.

AstraZeneca said international regulators had found the benefits of its jab outweighed risks significantly, the European Union have now backed this stance and reversed all bans in member states.

MoD Spokesman, Lee Iyar, said:

“This is a welcome development, it will reduce the carbon footprint of our defence procurement work in the UK and will help reduce emissions targets.”

In return for the EU clearing the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the UK will now exclusively build its warships in Germany.

The UK is currently building Type 26 Frigates on the Clyde, Type 31 Frigates in Rosyth as well as planning to build Type 32 Frigates and Type 83 Destroyers. All of these will now be built overseas.

Congraulations and thank you for reading the whole article, this is just an April Fools Day joke. The article above is not true and if anyone is sharing this after the 1st of April, please do remind them of that fact. The purpose of this article, aside from our usual April Fools day joke, is to make the point that reading beyond the headline should be the norm every day, not just on the 1st of April. There’s a large volume of misinformation online, make sure you don’t add to it by sharing articles without reading them. Finally, be careful of the person sharing this article after the 1st of April as they very clearly don’t read what they share.

Is this the same source that said Merkel agreed to pay Great Britain one trillion euros compensation for WW1 & 2?

I hear the UK Gov thought about the Calais pale, but only wanted it if it got a game of thrones 600ft high wall around it.

Morning Cap’n. Here’s a true story from Durban. After WW2 a new suburb was being developed in Durban near the German Club. They named the first street Koningkramer and the local Colonials, bristling at the Germanic names insisted the German developers named some streets after Royal Navy vessels. So they complied and the names included…Hood, Barham, and Coventry…. 🙂
Daniele has heard this story..

I wouldn’t be surprised – the Army are now buying most of their equipment from Germany.

Loved the comments about £1 trillion in compensation from France and Germany. Could add another 1-2 trillion for the UKs defence costs in defending and garrisoning troops in Europe since 1945. Our friends and allies across the channel have short and conveniently forgetful memories.

It’s not like the french didnt have any “memories” of the “perfide albion”.
We have nothing to compensate.

Chamberlain was one of the biggest issue for the french AND the brits before the war.
Do you have any history book in UK ?

Too many stereotype of english today, impressive.

Thanks Hermes. Yes I have multiple history books on modern European history. Thank you.
It was said in jest. I never thought for 1 split second that France or Germany would ever pay the UK.
It would be nice however if our “friends and allies” behaved like our friends and allies instead of trying their damndest to destroy the UK economically or punish the UK for a democratic vote to leave the fetid and dying corpse that is the EU.

No one is white or black in politic, not the UK or France and absolutely not Germany… its all of nuance of grey (Darkgrey for Germany imo). I dont even understand why push the brits in the corner since we all know that… Read more »

The Germans only feel they need to pay Israel for WW2. That is never going to change.
